The video for this song was made by a 13 year old kid using stop animation, with cardboard and pizza boxes for props.

Fucking amazing.

Stop motion is trippier than CGI and way better for music vids. :D

Stop motion requires PATIENCE and SKEELZ.  So yeah, of course it gets dissed as passe, etc.

But it's the shit, man, as this vid shows.

Helped a couple guys taking a video course back when I was in college do some stop motion stuff.  Was a royal pain in the ass.

Looked awesome, though.

NO PAIN, NO GAIN.

But really, this shit in the hands of kids is just all over awesome and then again.  And they're soooo proud (for good reason) when they've made a 2 min 30 second short.  And those of us who KNOW what that takes are like --YES!!!  YOU GO LIL DUDE!

5,000 takes...wuuuuut?!

Nah, they're both mediums dependent on the quality of the imagination, not the other way around.

You can give a moron the most sophisticated creative software in the world and it's going to look much worse than a brilliant mind working with a pile of horse shit.

This is an awesome video with a great back story.

I really wish I had a video recorder / digital camera /whatnot when I was little. I'd have animated the shit out of everything :)

I wonder if I'd picked legos, stuffed toys or perhaps (probably, cause I love drawing much more than crafts) just pencil and paper 2D animation ...

I'm sure I wouldn't have made it as fancy and "artsy" as this kid, though. Especially the subtle things such as the coloured lightings, camera movement, camera cuts and timing. Amazing that he actually figured out those things on his own, at that age!
