A friend of mine brought a copy of this up to the bar tonight and I thought it was right up PD's alley of humor.
Thus do I share.

I've read it 3 times in the last 4 hours.
It tickles me every time.
My friend got me that for Christmas. :)
I am happy that the era of "fucked-up picture books not really for children" seems to be exploding. :)

Yes.
But really, all of the great children's books and fables I remember were really adult tales toned down a bit.
My mother got me on Kipling early and that shit was along the same lines just not as funny.
Edward Gorey springs to mind.
This is hilarious.
Iptuous's Go the Fuck to Sleep is in the same vein. There's a humor section at B&N full of zombie singalong/language books, these "fake" children's books and cartoon books that I just stand over and cackle at, sharing the pictures and features with passersby. There's one that takes cute anime gifs (of puffy clouds, pieces of toast, marshmallows) and creates crude and funny sayings out of them.
