Any of you spags know of this site. It's one of my favourite currently and they've got a great news feed. Check it out http://deoxy.org
And then Dalek was a spam bot.
I've had a couple brushes with deoxy in the past.
Their random i-ching page (http://deoxy.org/iching/random) was my home page for a few months
and I used to play a game called Tetrinet - essentially a competitive version of Tetris - which was hosted at deoxy.
I can't recall too much else about it though. Any good links or articles on there we should investigate?
I think Dok really REALLY needs to read this article (http://deoxy.org/wiki/Sombunall).
A lot of stuff there is of a general Discordian-esque counterculture flavour though, from what I recall.
Yeeeaaah Deoxy.org is awesome. It's full of all sorts of weird freaky shit. I'm pretty damn sure there's a bunch of SubGenius stuff in there, too. "Bob" and the Oxygen Wars, IIRC.
Warning: It's also full of all sorts of woo-woo chaos Discordian "everything is true" bullshit.
The Alan Watts lectures there are kinda cool, too.
And ooooh I LOVED the weird stories about the hallucinogen trip reports and shared dreams and praying mantis insectoid aliens.

Ok sorry I will get back to you on this.

"Access to this site is Blocked: Abused Drugs"
The website abused drugs? :?
Or it refers to drugs that are abused, which could include almost any drug ever? :? :?
Page blockers are so silly.
Have you seen Deoxy.org? I'm pretty sure it abused drugs.

Heh, that was my main website before i came here.
Come to think of it, my main site is facebook now :x
Somebody kill me.
I'm pretty certain I found PD via Deoxy.org. You lucky people.
deoxy is still around? :?
Deoxy has been around for a very long time. Highly recommended. I'm not sure how old they are, but maybe 8 years? Maybe more?

We got in a fight with them several years ago. I can't remember what it was about, but I definitely remember thinking they were pretty douchey. But again, that was years ago. I imagine there's at least a 2% chance that they're not like that anymore.

Really? Can't remember that?
You're not confusing Deoxy with the Maybe-Logic Academy, now?
No, this was back in '05 or '06 I think. Might have been before you joined this illustrious spaghole.
Must've been '05, as I got here January'06, when the Swedish rolling eye Xenu dude was here (doin a racist troll on hiphop fora...), HIMEOBS orbitaled the place and you acquired the PD.com domain.
I wonder how they would feel about us now? :) I am registering on the forum.
Oh goddammit they aren't accepting new users.

FOUND IT!!
FUSION ANOMALY!!
found through great synchronicity as I was trying to look up how the pattern recognition algorithm using gzip worked again
1 and among the results
2 was http://fusionanomaly.net/compressionism.html . For some reason the index of FusionAnomaly doesn't link to any inside documents anymore, but each article is stuffed with links to others, like a stream-of-consciousness wiki, so you can probably find everything.
Now if anyone knows where the Intelligence Increase and Reality Enhancement homepage went, I'd LOVE to read it again. I found it long before I found Discordianism, read it with great interest (it's got all sorts of pseudo-anarchic zen things, like a collection of quotes and short stories), and it added a lot to the mindfuck I experienced when I read Illuminatus! for the first time, because I was so surprised that there was this book that actually tied together all these things I've been reading about here and there (the IIRE homepage was just a part of it).
Maybe it was called Reality Enhancement and Intelligence Increase ... I remember I abbreviated it as REII once.
I looked for it a bit on search engines and couldn't find it ... I hope it's not offline! Undoubtedly Archive.org would still have it, but without the URL it's kind of hard to find there.
1 It's in fact most simple and elegant: Given two strings
A and
B, the ratio between
size(gzip(A)) + size(gzip(B)) and
size(gzip(A B)) is a measure of how similar they are. The reasoning is, if the strings are similar, their concatenation compresses better than the sum of their compressed sizes separately.
2 DuckDuckGo results, of course. Google is slowly but quickly becoming beyond useless for anything but the most "mainstream"/common search topics--anyway I've ranted about that before.
