Title: Sharing a poem my father made for me when I was born
Post by: Mistre on February 23, 2012, 12:24:54 AM
Estamos todos mortos,
mortos como temos estado
desde o dia em que nascemos
até o dia em que morremos.

Estamos todos mortos,
e todas as nossas obrigações,
todos os nossos compromissos,
servem apenas para esquecermos.

Estamos todos mortos,
mas você, meu filho,
e o seu sorriso,
me dão a paz
que, morto, ainda não tive.

Translation:
We are all dead,
dead as we have been
since the day we are born
until the day we die.

We are all dead,
and all of our obligations,
all of our commitments,
just exist to let us forget.

We are all dead,
but you, my son,
and your smile,
give me peace
that, dead, I still haven't had.
