What about propaganda for a fake company called Discordicorp? Would that be something people would be interested in?

How do you want to use them? If you Want them realistic you may need some more effective design program.

Oh, certainly. I'm no graphic designer, merely a womper. If someone with better skill at graphic design wanted to run with the basic idea and find images or create images that are definitely not copyrighted that would be great.

I guess I have a couple of different goals
-to show how silly advertising can be
-make people more aware of the ubiquity of advertisement
-point out how meaningless corporate speak is
-possibly generate more traffic here by creating a mysterious, ill-defined product
-to show that a lot of corporations have mysterious, ill-defined products

I mean, I've seen this sort of thing on certain cable channels. There's an advertisement for some company. It never says at any point what the company actually does other than provide "solutions," which, I only hear as a meaningless jargon term. In reality, what they're trying to sell to the audience is stocks. Stocks? What does your company do?

This of course, can also be applied to CDGASM- if we end up taking the format of a radio show, all of the main advertisements (when not being used for a poster's shameless self-promotion  :lulz:) would be for this mysterious company, or its subsidiaries.

Also, any other potential uses that someone else sees that I'm not seeing. I'm pretty open to collaboration on most things, and if someone else has a good idea, I'm cool with running with it.

Hrm, I like the idea of just random, ill-defined products being advertised by an ill-defined corp, AND I especially love the potentional idea of DiscordicorpTM sponsoring CDGASMTM

Hell yeah. It would add a whole lot of what the fuck factor. If the ad comes up a few times in the recording people are going to want to look it up. And if they google it, they'll be directed back here.

That might be our in, actually. To advertise for the board without actually advertising for the board. They'll think its some sort of viral marketing and want to check it out.

Another purpose:
-To show how few corporations there actually are. Everything is a subsidiary for something else. With the music industry, for example, there are only 4 companies running the major label gig. All other major labels are child companies of those 4. Anything not part of those 4 is a minor/independent label. (did some research on it. Decided if Anarchangel ever gets an offer I would be inclined to minor label as they would guarantee us more support.)

I think I saw that awhile back. But it was awhile, so I may have missed an update or two over an odd weekend.

ok thoughts = the "discordicorp" font is real hard to read. fortunately there's quite a few fonts that look just like it but are much easier to read. check:

http://www.fontsquirrel.com/fonts/list/style/Display

or this site where you can even write "Discordicorp" in the textbox and see how it looks:

If Walmart's to be involved at all (which I'd prefer not), it would be that it is a subsidiary of Discordicorp.

It is OBVIOUSLY the subsidiary parent corporation of DiscordiCorp.

The 139th has been investigating them for about 50 years.

These are all really good.  :lulz:

The text is more readable with the black stroke (inversed if backgrounds are dark). If you guys clean up the first few (use ROFLbot (http://wigflip.com/roflbot/), like Chopra, if your WOMP engines don't have stroke-ability ) we can start spreading them around.

This one is killer:

I like that!

I don't know if it's actually related, but I've been seeing a commercial lately that's been using a very similar phrase to the one I used in this.
Maybe there's a person who makes ads who saw this and felt it appropriately subversive to throw in an incredibly obscure reference to an in-joke reference that basically amounts to "In 1000 years they'll tell stories about the sort of havoc (citrus-based or otherwise) we could wreak on unsuspecting toilets."

Yeah, not the video I meant to post, but I think it's an improvement  :lulz:

The commercial in question has some rather amusing bits, like the shirt the kid is wearing, but most of the dialogue is just grating and is only redeemed by the secret message of "This service shits bricks like you wouldn't believe" that may or may not have been intentionally included.
