Title: Northeast Bastille Day bistro-hop
Post by: leln on July 06, 2012, 12:17:17 AM
Apologies to everyone who lives further away/who generally doesn't give a fuck. Once we have a list of potential event attendees we'll move the discussion to PM and quit cluttering up the board. Thank you for your patience.

Ahem.

Would all the local spags who are interested in converging on Providence on Saturday, July 14 post their intentions here? This outing will revolve around our group descending on local bistros (bistri?) and pretending to be some sort of French. For the record, proper personal hygiene is still mandatory. Otherwise we're still working out the details and welcome any creative input. If we're really lucky, Richter will be able incorporate this meatup into a bachelor party for one of his friends. Warning: side effects may include wine, women and song. Though I sincerely hope I'm not the only one who knows some of La Marseillaise, I can't carry a tune in a bucket.

Anyway, who thinks they'll be showing up?

I may be able to make it with the caveat that i must be back in boston by five or six. My keyboardist is having a bday show with her side project. Band is family.

Understandable. Hmm...we could always start with snooty coffee bars in the morning, and work our way up from there...Would that be enough reason for you to trek to Providence, even if you weren't around for the whole event?

That sucks, but happy birthday to whoever is being celebrated! Also, I'm reasonably sure we'll find another excuse for a meetup before September, (yes, that is a threat aimed at the rest of you local types) so with luck we'll catch up with you at some point.

Goddamnit Dimo, as the resident guidos, we need to make sure that it's you and I draped in the French flags.

Now I need a French flag...*runs to Amazon*

Les toges tricolores? This can't possibly end well. Though it might be vaguely thematic if the bachelor party scenario plays out.

Just try not to get us arrested, 'kay?

Waiting for the return of Richter and Leln with Dimo, then it's off to IHOP for crepes and the shenanigans will begin. Navyguy is our American Tourist, complete with camera, floppy hat, and boat shoes with no socks.
