Factcheck does in fact have a pretty good history of being unbiased. Sourcewatch loves 'em.
However, multiple papers have broken this story, directly quoting the SEC's paperwork, so I think factcheck is having a little trouble with the distinction between "I resign" and "I resign but keep 169% control and still get paid".
Romney "left" Bain to help "rescue" the olympics, and then to run for governor of that horrible state LMNO and Twid live in. Leaving Bain was a formality, and apparently not a legal one.
But here's the kicker: Either he lied to the SEC then, or he lied now.
So no matter what, he lied, end of story.
Unless I'm missing something, the way I read this is that he lied to the FEC, which in all fairness has only been done by every politician ever. I've got $5 that says this story has no legs.

That's the important bit, because Bain got involved with a refuse company that 'took care of' aborted fetuses post-Rom-meister. He needs to be able to say he had no knowledge about that, while his name was still on the paperwork.
