Title: My friend's donation to Mitt Romney
Post by: Suu on July 18, 2012, 12:53:01 AM
A friend of mine out in Wisconsin is a registered Republican. He identifies himself as being a fiscal conservative, but cannot fucking stand what the party has become. So, when the RNC sent him an envelope asking for money, he thought about how he could contribute.

This is his donation:

That's 110 pennies glued on wood, folks.

Nice!

They won't use it wisely though.

If it actually survives the USPS, they'll peel off those fucking pennies. Mark my word.

We're not the party of the rich. We're the party of the people who want to be rich (lose fingernails)

You know, I dislike the democrats. I fucking hate the republicans. And I hate Mitt Romney more because he can't even be consistent within his paradigm. I mean, fuck we were talking about it the other day over crepes. He now opposes Obama for his own goddamn policy. He was the trendsetter for that. Socialism my shapeless ass.

Mmm, Crepes.

True Suu Fact: I used to be a registered Republican. Then I graduated college and got a dose of the real life.

Mmm, Crepes.

True Suu Fact: I used to be a registered Republican. Then I graduated college and got a dose of the real life.

My political history:

High school: Was many things. Started off Republican (heresy, except I was religious), Marxist (didn't quite get it though, nor how it lined up with Catholicism), Irish Republicanism (definitely didn't get it), Monarchist, preference for British Crown (there was a reason for that), Marxist again (made more sense), borderline-Green Party (senior year of high school).

I was eligible for voting in November 2000. I was 19.

Democrat. Gotta vote for Gore. Bush is a ponce. I don't understand the electoral college at all.

2002 gubernatorial primary: I want to vote for Tolman, but he's not going to win. I'll vote for Reich because O'Brien is as bad as Romney.

O'Brien wins the primary, as does Romney.

Fuck that, I'm going Green. Vote for Jill Stein. Change Party.

Stay Green, lose party status several times.

Rejoin the Democratic Party for this years primary to write in Vermin Supreme, forget that I was an Independent again this year just because. Still a Democrat, got Jury Duty for Suffolk County even though I'm now in....

Wait, where the hell am I? Middlesex? I think it's Middlesex.

Really, if no one pays attention to counties here and the're meaningless it should go by municipality. I should be on jury duty in Somerville and Somerville only. Middlesex doesn't exist as a government anymore. County governments were abolished.... Wait. Why do we still have sheriffs? This doesn't make sense. I lived in Boston most my life and I never saw Suffolk County sheriff's cruisers. Nor in Norfolk when I lived in Brookline. Nor in Middlesex when I lived in Newton and Somerville. Seriously, why do we have sheriffs if we never see them and there is no further county government in Eastern Massachusetts?

My RI voter's registration card says "undecided."

And it will stay that way. Less junk mail, damnit.

I still have my Florida one for posterity. When I registered to vote in 2000, I asked my parents what I should be, since I really had no clue, and since they were both Republican at the time (Democrats now) they said I could pick that, but I did not have to vote my party. I ended up voting for Gore...in Florida...we all know the tragic end of that story.

I also used to listen to Glenn Beck a lot, mostly because I thought he was funny, and my lesbian roommate was big into him for some reason.  :? I'm pretty sure he went off the fucking deep end, though, because I don't remember him being so fucking batshit.

It's just another isolated incident...

The only times I've been called to Jury Duty was when I was a democrat. I'M PART OF THE SYSTEM DAMMIT.

I should register as a Communist. Even though it is illegal to be a Communist in Massachusetts. (http://www.malegislature.gov/Laws/GeneralLaws/PartIV/TitleI/Chapter264/Section16A). No, fuck that, I can't afford $1000 or 2.5 years in jail, and when the hell did it become preferable to spend $1000 than 2.5 years in jail?

Looking at you, inflation.

You can be forgiven for not knowing which county your in. Counties East of the Mississippi are smaller than the average bathroom in Arizona.

Dude, I'm totally serious about this. Counties are almost irrelevant to us.

The only reason counties factor in in MA is because, for exactly these two reasons: Jury Duty and Voting. It's ABSOLUTELY meaningless here.

We have 5 counties in Rhode Island that mean total shit outside of court proceedings.

Where the FUCK do we put them?! The entire state is the size of the city I grew up in.

Honestly, I'm surprised there are parts of Rhode Island that aren't Providence.

Most of the Providence metro area is in Massachusetts, not RI. Outside of Cranston/Warwick/Johnston/Pawtucket...there isn't SHIT in this state...but those 4 cities plus Providence have a million people. And then the rest of the state has about another million in the sticks. 2 million fucking people on a 60 mile stretch of 95. There's a reason why Providence has no damn trees.

-Suu
Foxboro is Providence Metro. Not Boston Metro. Suck it, Pats fans. The team is OURS.

The Bucs drafted a paraplegic.

That explains the future of the team, damnit.

(However, it was a rad thing of them to do.)
