This current goal is only for the acquisition of materials ONLY, for the library. The library building itself will be funded later once the collection of large enough to fill a space worth opening to the public. The size of an independent book store at least.
There's a project page on Indie-go-go if you want to donate. They're asking for a lot ($23,005!) but because of the Indie-Go-Go set up, they will get all promised funds regardless of meeting goal.
OR they also say on the FB group,

Which I have done, and will share with you spags, as some of us may be interested in our creative works being included; I'm sending off my two meatspace pieces. Other works like the Chao Te Ching, upcoming BiP2 etc, Faceless Man could be sent along.
Thoughts?
They get the money even if they don't meet the goal and nothing gets built?
I wonder if they're also selling bridges in Brooklyn?

Sorry, if they don't meet the financial goal. Most crowdsourcing that I know only lets you keep it if you meet your aim.
I don't like the idea of that setup especially (which is why I bypassed indigogo).
But I think some of the idea could have merit to it. Afaik these are the only people anywhere running a shop with a Discordian theme.
I don't have a problem sending them BIP and CTC, but I'm gonna wait on sending them cash.

Hi im the founder of the Library of Discordia, let me clear up some confusion...
Should anyone actually read the description on our 'fundraising page' they would discover:
1) We have no interest in anyones money, unless they really have some to throw around. We are WAY more interested in books and other cool stuff for our archive.
2) We already have a huge collection of books and more and we will never stop collecting items for the Library of Discordia.
3) We dont care if the goal is met or not, it makes no damn difference, we are going to open this library with or without the goal.
4) The fundraising goal is not to open the Library at all! We are still in the 'gather materials' mode the fundraiser for the Building will occur later on...
Any questions concerning the Library that are not already covered on the Fundraiser page?
