I was wondering if we still have any gamerspags on PD anymore, and what you all are using to consume your time mindlessly. I remember when we had LOGD up and everyone was involved, on top of playing GORE SE with a few. I purchased a Ventrilo server a while ago which is frequented by about 5 people with a max of 10, and would like to invite you who do have interest in games to join up. I'll pm the details if you're interested. The biggest thing going on currently is the ARMA 2 DayZ mod which is explained in the post zombies...zombies... on top of League of Legends which is free for those of you strapped for cash and looking for entertainment.
Nowadays i just play "Spectromancer" (online magic card duel type of game); im sort of a starcraft chobo veteran, but its way too mentally and physically draining.
Recently i played "I want to be the Boshy", but my computer doesnt give me enough FPS to be able to play it appropiately; i just got the gaiden sequel to "I want to be the guy", but i need to update Adobe (i think) to actually try it out.
I can usually squeeze in a couple of hours a day of video gaming.
Currently playing Tribes: Ascend, finishing up skyrim, looking forward to Guild Wars 2 and Mechwarrior Online.
Going to start The Secret World when I get home.
Otherwise, I'm occasionally playing Doom 3 late at night.
Guild Wars 2 is currently having a beta weekend until midnight I believe, I have it preordered and liked on FB so they keep me informed of the dates, August 28th is the release date.
Tribes I can't play my frame rate is too low even forcing 800x600
Doom 3 classic DM :D almost as fun as Unreal Tournament 2004
I'm currently playing a text-based mmorpg called Urban Dead.
Do you have a link for us? :) I might join you.
http://urbandead.com
I made a NecroTech lab scientist and I'm stuck in the gun store with no barricades because I tried to smash another building's barricades to no avail lol
I am a doctor class character- The scientist classes can be hard to get off the ground, I'd advise that you get the XP to get diagnosis next, then after you heal and revive a few people, that you then go for Free Running.
However it does suck more to start out as a Consumer..
I'm just trying to extract dna from zombies and run like hell lolz
SW:TOR, to the wall. :)
I had that preordered and played it for about two months, I don't find myself enjoying WoW-esque MMORPGS. It always seemed the pvp was dominated by one group on the server as well. The quest lines were DAMN amazing though along with the cinematics. I might pick it up again in another 6 months or so when I see tangible new content. I had a Sith marauder I maxed out I enjoyed thoroughly until 50 when his effectiveness dropped 1v1, however in group ambushes on tattooine....:D:D :fap:

PvP, IMHO, sucks donkey cock. Badly. Hated it in WoW, don't enjoy it all in SWTOR.
I love the storylines, and have been having a blast with my guild doing 8 man ops.
Marauders aren't my style, I run a Sith Sorceress specced for heals, if I'm going for DPS, I prefer ranged, not in your face.
Give a yell when you come back, let me know what server you're on.
I don't really play that many online games, though i do frolic on multiplayer connected games such as the ones on Kongregate.
I'm waiting on Torchlight 2 to get my multiplayer fix. I'll bump this thread when it's available.
Finally finished downloading DeusEx: Human Revolution that i bought on Steam earlier this week. Only played for an hour, but seems pretty cool, aside from a cliched, gritty, male player character
Playing Diablo 3 right now. Cleared normal difficulty as a frenzy / AoE Barbarian, repeating with a witch doctor doing DPS / pets blend. Comes off more functional than the D2 necromancer doing skeletons or golems.
I'd like to see more content or I'll likely be done with it and on to torchlight as my main fix in a few months.
Currently my gaming tiem is 3 hours a week, at best. IF I follow Roger's advice and go play Civ, my life will likely go away.
Diablo 3 has a serious boredom problem at inferno mode because nothing is different. I did play it the day of release and during beta however so things i know have changed a bit. Basically what they had done for each difficulty while they were working on getting their moneymaker up [real money auction house] is multiply damage by 100 and health by 1000 which in itself made normal---->hell = cakewalk
and hitting inferno RIDICULOUS, as in demon hunter with 75% resistance and 70k hp one shotted by cats with fire potions.
On the upside, there IS an actual place in there called Whimseyshire where you get to kill chubby pink unicorns, twinkleroot and cuddlebears.
I think Diablo is still installed so if you want a free trip there let me know I'll log and pen the portal.
While I enjoyed LOGD a lot, and indeed a lot of PD people joined in, you didn't really *notice* they were there, very much. At least, not in any particular way that made the game more fun than if you'd play it by yourself. A lot like a group of people all playing the same solitary game, with the occasional message wall to remind you that they're actually there.
Otherwise, the closest I currently get to actual gaming is teaching a few kids at the Young Researchers how to write mods for Minecraft in Java. I can proudly say that I still have only a very vague idea what the game is about, yet we did manage to code a mod, get it to compile and it worked--mostly :)
BTW while this thread got the attention of our Gamers, if any of you plays one of the following games:

And disable that browser plugin
ASAP because those bumbling motherfucking MORONS at Ubisoft thought it was a good idea to have their (completely unnecessary) auto-installed browser plugin
execute arbitrary commands without signing or authentication or anything ...
it basically means anyone that can get you to click a link, can completely 0wn your b0x. and it's pretty trivial to do, as well.
(the example link at pastehtml merely starts up Windows Calculator for you, to demonstraet ..)
Ubisoft is the masters of disaster through bad set up, bad customer relations, and bad coding. Not really a fan of any of those games either to be honest lol but it is good info for everyone's b0x, especially since assassin's creed (lower-cased because of suck) is huge amongst the little ones.

This is true, though I did have my hands in it's customization for quite a bit when I wasn't working Radio TDM, that made it quite memorable.
Thinking up names and enemies to fight was quite pleasurable :D
I had a lvl 1 scientist in urban dead, i totally forgot about that game. I found myself lying in a cemetery with some kind of infection. Luckily i had some first aid kits.
I found a barricaded safehouse in West Grayside, Dampney Grove Police Dept.
The generator is out of fuel in case someone happens across some fuel and feels like dropping by.
There is one other guy here, lvl 23 civilian called Dalkorian.
I don't really know how to play this game but it should be more fun if we can get a group together in one safehouse.

I actually play in a group with it's own forum, based in the extreme west of the map, called the Dunell Heights Police Department. There are links to the forum in the Wiki, which is itself linked from the game. You could just join me in that group, and coordinated play is much more fun! I am DocktorPixie and my player profile and ID is http://www.urbandead.com/profile.cgi?id=2030397.
We could totally do with some rookies. :D

I was already moving west because i saw some empty areas there. I should have known you were there from the lack of zombies.
For all you steampunks:
There is a game on steam in beta right now called Guns of Icarus Online, not to be confused with Guns of Icarus (not online.)
Currently 3 airships, crews of 4, and about 10 different weapons for each ship, which includes a hot air ballast, two engines, and since this is steampunk, a boat deck. I'll see if I can get some screenshots in.
Basically the captain flies, the rest of the crew manages repairs and the weaponry to blast the others out of the sky! You run around the ship and should you get hit, bust out your rubber mallet and start fixing it, but OH SHIT there's the enemy on our port side! You must make a choice! FLEE? Never. MAN THE GUNS! Fire that electric harpoon and sink them! The chaingun needs repair! Quickly!

I am going to college starting this week, and this is a major step for me. For those of you who have read my story and know me in even greater depth than that, this is a huge step in my life and I wanted to celebrate. I am trying to win some games for steam on listia and everything I win I will be sharing with random people who have posted in this thread :)
If you are interested, let me know! I will be using a random name generator to pick out the winners. If you would like to opt out, let me know as well :) I would like to share my passion with my friends, and this is my way of showing it. If everything goes well, I'll have a few things to toss around in 40 hours :)
better enjoy games while you can, once you start college, and if you mean to take it seriously, you wont have time to juggle everything like friends, staying healthy or family, if i dont fail my thesis ill probably write about my experience
The good news is mixing friends and games is one and the same. With Guild Wars 2 coming out however, even though I own it I know I won't be playing much if at all. All my courses are online this time which is a good start for me. Staying healthy has never been an issue, because i am the sickly puppy of my genetics lol I'm lucky if I eat once a day without the need for vomit or shits. I do have priority of school in all regards, though on a lunch break I might shoot some robots for 15 minutes in between.
I have two to give out for Guns of Icarus: Online Beta, I will message in about 30 minutes the keys to the randomnimity. This requires Steam.
Also if you wish to play it, let me know and I will gladly when I have the time :) The Scarlet Reaper on the search bar should pop me up.
If you want a chance to get one, drop a comment! Also, there is a gameplay trailer in this thread.
Trips and waffles, grats! Keys headed to your inbox. Activate via "Activate a product on Steam".
If I get extras I'll drop more ^.^
