I can see what's next: one day your kids are tossing stones in hopscotch, and the next they're all:

YOU HAVE GOT TO BE FUCKING SHITTING ME
Oh, world.

She's momtasticizing through the interwebs.
I know when I was a kid I couldn't tell the difference between not telling people where I was hiding and being raped. I'm glad this important issue is being raised.

YOU HAVE TO USE THE BUBBLE WRAP.
QuoteIn our era of parenting, there are two philosophies regarding children's interactions with the world that have seemingly emerged. Philosophy one views the world as a mostly safe place that we need to allow our children to freely experience and explore, and philosophy two views the world as a mostly dangerous place that we need to protect and shelter our children from. Then there are those who fall somewhere in the middle, parents who are aware of the dangers of the world but not fearful, and are concerned about their child's safety but not obsessed. I think those are the type of parents we should strive to be.
And then you go TOTAL MORAL PANIC about fucking HIDE AND SEEK. :lulz:
So when you buy your kid Legos for Christmas, and you spend all morning putting the set together for them (because your kid is six and the set is for 9-14), and then you get irked because your child actually plays with the Legos?
That's when you're momtastic (http://www.momtastic.com/parenting/blog/175191-lego-mania).

SHUT YOUR DIRTY WHORE MOUTH. SHE'S MOMTASTIC.
i was at first under the impression that this was an individual blog, but after looking at the lego link, i realize this is a collection of MOMTASTIC MOMS that are under the umbrella of this site.
and then i realized... the greatness of potential for trolling. i think you would be hitting a demographic that would be particularly susceptible.

What in the hell is WRONG with these people?
That said, I was so fucking relieved when it was finally time to get rid of Legos. I've stepped on Legos so many times in the middle of the night that I cringe when I see one.
They make oversized Legos for smaller kids anyway.
Why didn't momtastic mom know this?

also, i think the ages on them are kind of lowballed. maybe for them to put it together all alone without getting frustrated?
but my kid who just turned four has no problems putting together sets in that age range if i prompt him along. (i.e. ask what the next peice is on the pictures. indicate when he has the orientation wrong, or is off a stud...)
I'm thinking that perhaps being so incredibly MOMTASTIC requires enough brainspace that there wasn't room for simple spatial reasoning, or ability to match shapes, or ability to follow well thought out pictorial instructions intended for young children.

I think Roger should post his KitchenWitch troll about waxing the cat.
THAT SITE IS FULL OF MILMFs.

I wouldn't even bother trolling; mom groups are typically heavily moderated by super-nazis. They get trolled a LOT and can smell it coming ten miles away. Plus, trolling young moms and pregnant ladies... I don't know about you, but I kind of have this dignity thing...

i meant that you could post as a young mom on a site like that in a subtle way that would make folks like us get frothy reading it.
it occurred to me as i saw the reactions here, and when i read the article, wasn't sure whether it was serious. figured if it wasn't a troll, it would be great as one seeing how it made us react.
that being said, i don't see how if it did end up trolling the momtastic crowd posting something like that, one would erode ones dignity any more than trolling any other random group... (okay, you'd lose some chivalry points, but it's out of fashion to count those, anyways)
I'd troll "mommybloggers" with no regrets, only I could never do it as well as my beloved Violent Acres (http://www.violentacres.com/archives/25/mommybloggers-unite/).

I was buildin Lego sets at below the suggested age range since 4, which is not to say I am special super smart snowflake of child, but that for whatever reason the Lego sets I had growing up were age appropriate, my point being that a parent SHOULD be able to evaluate their child's development with respects to toys, and if their child states that a toy is too old for them, why the fuck are they buying it and then laboring in it's construction only to lament the transient nature of a Lego building?
Coyote, honestly thinking of giving this poor momtastic mom some real advice with regards to her troubles.

The whole point of legos is to let the KID mess with them.
But I'm with Nigel. These fuckers are already a mess. Nothing we can do will help them, and I just can't see targeting young mothers for mere abuse.

Oh, sure, I could see using something like that as a troll... the self-righteous supermom always makes a good troll character.
As far as trolling a bunch of pregnant ladies and moms with young kids, if they came looking for it, it would be one thing, but I'd have to kick myself in the nads repeatedly if I went to them to troll. There's no sport in that, it's as pathetic as trolling little kids, retarded people, and grandmothers.
damn...
retarded juvenile grandmothers are my favorite target.
Hypocrites! Momtastic has absolutely nothing to say about....MURDER IN THE DARK!!!
