In my internet activisty loop there is concern about yet more imperialist intervention/ the cost of funding another fucking Iraq whilst child poverty soars, the bedroom tax in social housing causing homelessness, and disabled and chronically ill people being termed fit for work by a subcontractor to the Department for Work and Pensions and then dropping dead/committing suicide as well as all the other cluster fuck bombs of austerity that are going to cost more than they save.
Of course the noisiest students are the ones that struggle with the rise in tuition fees and a lot of these potential students that can't get their full educational potential have given up the idea of Uni.

Then they'll realise that their mates who were smart enough but too poor are either unemployed or working some shitty zero hours contract service job.

In other news I need to check Redwatch (the far right website that posts pics and locations of left wing and anti-racist activists) to see if my mugshot is on there as a far right group posted pics of me ALL OVER their FB page, so I need to get a new email account, set up an alt on FB because I'm not having my family or friends targeted too.

It wasn't about the contribution being meaningful as much as I was saying that it was there. By your own admission, you didn't comment at all so that is surely a less meaningful contribution? Not to mention anyone who is going to be talking politics online is going to be talking American politics because, despite British propaganda to the contrary, American politics are more globally relevant.
The UKUSA agreement means UK is a vassal state in all but name and Federal funding forms. Hell, the UK wouldn't have a nuclear program without US permission and largesse. Internal matters are, of course, largely our own to maintain, so long as we stick within existing liberal-capitalistic norms, but on the global stage, we're just legally deniable adjuncts to American military power.
