I will be following this with interest.
Makes my hair stand up on end. Bodies everywhere, nobody buried, the place was NEVER LOOTED.
Ohhh, VERY intriguing!
oh wow.
I've seen mention of several cases, in unrelated cultures, where the men were told to kill everyone but looting was taboo. Then they always loot anyway and it's used to explain the next large scale tragedy or misfortune.
This is just...chills.
I kinda have to know what happened, now.
They went bad. REALLY bad. Like Wendigo psychosis, the sort of bad where you board up the house regardless of what's elf tinside and enver talk about the place again. that's my guess

That's what I'm thinking. Whatever it was, the taboo it generated was stronger than looting for at least a generation.
Oh wow
I've been sitting on this tab for a day: http://www.pasthorizonspr.com/index.php/archives/10/2013/1500-year-old-swedish-fortress-massacre-revealed
I think they got traffic bombed, and went down when I tried it yesterday. Thanks for the reminder and the alternate source.
