[channeling Cramulus]
40 years in the future, a neo-hipster comes to you. It's doing an art project on the online communities that existed in the transition era when people were starting to have personal online presences, but those online presences were largely distinct from their day-to-day lives, back when there was a public/private distinction.
All of the good boards were taken, so it's chosen PD.com.
What four threads that you've started do you make him read?
I have not started a lot of topics here, and most of them were writing of some sort. These four pieces represent some PD board culture fun, some PD meatspace fun, a serious bit on pain and medication, and lastly a bit of pure, tasty self indulgence.

Well. Hrmm....
Let me see if I can do some digging up.
The thread that eventually brought me here:
http://www.principiadiscordia.com/forum/index.php/topic,15570.0.html
The thread where I fully became a part of PD:
http://www.principiadiscordia.com/forum/index.php/topic,25023.0.html
Which was briefly called:
The peanut gallery / Re: Unlimited giving attention to Nephew Twiddleton thread
Heh:
http://www.principiadiscordia.com/forum/index.php/topic,25023.msg867228.html#msg867228
(all same thread)
An interesting exploration of my dreams that I kinda let drop even though I never stopped having interesting dreams:

There is one more thread, which will be almost impossible, unless Roger remembers the one in question, but it almost made me not join, funny enough. I love that thread because some dude was being a stupid pinealist, and Roger seemed like a big heavy that I would but heads with. But yet, I now count Roger as one of my closest friends. Damn what was it. It was some sort of riddle thread, and I think the dude's name and avatar was some sort of weird MS Paint Cheshire Cat thing and the name had something to do with drug use. Help a Nephew out.

Hey Nigel:

Little Orange Breaks Bad.
Hell in a Dry Place.
The Paesors.
Life During Wartime.
If we're talking about mine.
If not:
Discordian Wars (Cain)
Spagbook (Cramulus)
The Patriarchy Hurts Guys, Too (Pixie)
Hey, LMNO (the first psycho letter, me)
Wait. Nessies.
WOMP-ertainment (http://www.principiadiscordia.com/forum/index.php/topic,13438.0.html)
Roger, do you remember this? (http://www.principiadiscordia.com/forum/index.php?topic=22473.0)
Creativity in a Cultural Wasteland (http://www.principiadiscordia.com/forum/index.php?topic=16789.0)
The Book of Prophecy ~ As Written by Payne (http://www.principiadiscordia.com/forum/index.php/topic,20535.0.html)
Those four are not my "best work", they're good though. And I think all four together point in the direction of what PD is for me.
Pretty sure This (http://www.principiadiscordia.com/forum/index.php/topic,25383.0.html) is about the only thing I've posted here that I'm verging on being happy with

Wait. Nessies.
:)
I didn't put it, since I didn't start it, but that's absolutely my favorite thread. All them succulent, mouthwatering creative juices flowing. Delicious.
I have my extract thread and I thought about choosing that one, but as proud as I am of that writing, it isn't much without all the other wonderful stuff to go with it.
Payne, can I put Creativity in a Cultural Wasteland on the Big Words wait list? It's gonna be a while before I can do another one, but I think that'd work really well as a poster.
Yeah, go for it.
WOO!
I don't have a top 4 list, but this (http://www.principiadiscordia.com/forum/index.php/topic,7745.0.html) is probably the best rant I've ever written. At least in terms of energy. Wait, there was the banana one, someone was trying to break my brain with stupid and open the rage floodgates.
I remembered the 4th one. Wandering Furby thread.
Likely the only thing of merit I've posted is the Sacred Bull, which was channeled through a charismatic sociopath. As Hoopla, I mostly just whine.
I don't know that I've EVER posted any original writing here that's worth a damn except for the piece of mine in the BIP.
What I do know is that if I had to pick 4 threads from all of PD's history, three of them might change according to mood or weather but the goddamn Nessie thread will always be my pick for best thread of all time.
ETA: that's not necessarily true, I thought my piece about my dad was pretty good, but I can't find it using the site's search engine.
30 Days of Eris
LMNO-PI
At least one of the Spider games
Chao te Ching
Welcome to Prison

You wrote a story, IIRC, and you wrote something about being a chef, and something about the VI. That was a long time ago, but I remember enjoying the VI stuff in particular.
Yeah, some sort of homecoming, going to bars, getting shot at... you know, typical ECH stuff.
Yeah, I never finished it so I don't count it as being worth a damn. Plus when I go back and read it now it makes me cringe a bit. I'm probably too hypercritical of my own writing.
Well, I was digging it.

I feel that way about most of the psycho letters. There were one or two nuggets in that puddle of diarrhea I wrote, but most of it was just cold poop.

Yep. Goes for almost everything I've ever written for me.

Balls. You've written some good stuff. Nessies comes to mind.

I actually really liked that and hoped that you continued with it. Matter of fact I was thinking about that thread the other day. Can't remember what it was called, can you bump it?
Also, LMNO, I friggin' loved spiders. I even skipped work one day for the one where I was one of the Discordians and Roger was one of the spiders, because we had a rather lively and engaging back and forth.

And you know, we all feel doubts about our stuff, and are hypercritical about it, but hell, every so often I'll think about someone's thread, and go, "man, I wish I knew what that thread was called so I could reread it." Yours was definitely one of those. I particularly liked the part where the guy who wasn't supposed to be there was running the door and you told him to fuck off.
I don't think I can really respond to this thread... I couldn't pick four favorites.
