Title: if you're part of the problem you're part of the solution
Post by: Horab Fibslager on December 15, 2004, 01:54:01 AM
found this in my notepad thing deal at angus's. qutiefunny, all things considered.

Quotenvariably there is no such thing as a thing; indeed, it's all largely the universe snoring while we play in it's dreams.
the discordian solution to any socio-economic-political problem is, of course, to exacerbate and drive it to such extremes that the rest of scoiety has no choice but to finally confront the demon they have created.

the only downside to this is that one day 'mehums' will stop caring totally and will let eris carry the world to hell in her happy little handbasket.

the reason discordianism makes no sense is because it is all too true.

all too real.

i an explain discordianism anymore than i can explain capitalism.

sure one is salvation through non-sense, the other is getting rich.

but where's teh how of it?

the why?

i dunno man, i didn't do it.

I now feel like a Gay Republican!  I want to take away my OWN civil rights!

I am both for and against the Discordian (non)movement.

Of course, I was before, anyway.  Ohh well.

Look at the Futurist statue "Unique Forms of Continuity in Space" and compare it to the Dadaist work "The Fountain", then you'll understand what I mean.

I actually had an Art History Exam where I had to do that, earlier today in fact.

there is no such thing as a unique form of coninuity.

coninuity is uniform in it's nature.

is it a spheroid? or an oval?

or does it contain any hard edges?

there is no such thing as unique, unless you're talking about opinions.

Reminded me of a Bruce Lee saying (and I am someone who does not particulary like Bruce Lee so feel honoured that I decided to quote him here, probably for the last time).

"Let yourself go with the disease, be with it, keep company with it-that is the way to be rid of it"- The Tao of Jeet Kune Do

Now I'm not sure as to what its real meaning is but I had always interpreted it in the sense of the second paragraph.  If there is a flaw built into the system itself, exploit it, drive it to its absolute limit. If the system is built on that flaw it tends to crash under the pressure of it all.

I've always look at the whole universe this way. It all balances it out. Things are getting too orderly, so people who respect and cause chaos appear. If the world becomes too chaotic, the opposite will happen. There is no such thing as a common extreme, because if it was common it wouldn't be extreme.

If there were too many Discordians it would become meaningless because there wouldn't be any more chaos left to cause.
