Title: Another reason to hate the world. True or False?
Post by: Resigned Obligatorily on March 05, 2014, 10:55:51 AM
Someone made this list, and I saved it because its an interesting concept.

How wrong is this?
I really think this is true for when you meet people.
This doesn't seem to apply when logic gives up and
a relationship takes over, or when girls are trying
to take pity on someone. Thats usually a friend zone thing anyway.

Literally all women care about.

1. How tall you are
2. How big your dick is
3. How much money you make
4. How much hair you have
5. Your social status
6. How fit you are
7. What car you drive (and other various status symbols)
8. What you do at work
9. How popular you are
10. How handsome you are

I'm hoping that some will try to prove or disprove this, inevitable creating some insight about life.
Either that, or you all can just kill me.

Politically correct version; for the politically correct people!

Literally all 'people' in general care about.
When getting a first impression of you.
(Call them the uninformed if you like)

1. How tall you are, or at least if you are not way too short or too tall for them
2. How big your dick is, metaphorically speaking
3. How much money you make.
4. The quality of your hair
5. Your social status
6. How fit you are
7. What car you drive (and other various status symbols)
8. What you do at work
9. How popular you are
10. How 'striking' you are

First impressions cannot be taken back.

"literally all XXXXXX" statements are never correct. Some people will always be too smart/brain damaged to conform to your chosen demographic.

Not to say a whole bunch of these things won't hold true for a large percentage, given that a large percentage of any group are usually idiots. Ask any anthropologist why the list makes sense and it's pretty straightforward monkey brain wiring. However, as we discussed recently, monkey brain wiring is not fixed. assume otherwise at your peril.

What matters is that other people aren't people to you.

Well, it's pretty obvious that if you begin a message with mockery and/or derision, that is the ONLY part of the message that another human will receive; everything else vanishes as if you had never wasted the time to type it.

This is what the New Thing does.  Either it is too stupid to know it, or it knows it and doesn't care.  In either case, just start ladeling out the horrid abuse.

Literally all women care about.

1. How tall you are
2. How big your dick is
3. How much money you make
4. How much hair you have
5. Your social status
6. How fit you are
7. What car you drive (and other various status symbols)
8. What you do at work
9. How popular you are
10. How handsome you are

If we remove the implications and go soley with the text, it turns out that it doesn't put a judgement on each category.

For example, "How tall you are" may imply that women like tall men better, but that isn't stated. A woman who likes short men can care about how tall you are, and reject you if you're over 5'2".

The same thing can be applied to each category, so you can use it to describe just about any person you want to as desirable.

But that's just fun with semantics.  The real problem is with "literally all".  In that there isn't as single other thing women care about when considering potential mates.  Children? Drug use? Libertarian? Pet lover?  Prone to violence? There is a shit ton of factors people care about more than the above 10.

Also, leaving off the qualifier "when meeting men" or whatever implies that women don't care about anything else in their lives except for certain qualities of a man.

Which reduces women to objects, without agency.

With that specific wording the point if forced into concession. You are completely right, but there was an intended practical application for that sentence which is obvious.

Lesbians are women, but they are lesbian women. It would be 'Shintoist Pig-Like' to say that they are different, but they are different in many ways. It would be very hard to befriend them if you do not fall into their target demographic. I can't say this empirically, but many (of course not all) lesbians have certain expectation and defense mechanisms set up because the issues surrounding a controversial lifestyle.

In many cases making it socially unacceptable to them for ones appendage to exist in any size.

Thanks for playing devils advocate for a sec.

That's interesting that you concluded that it objectifies women,
but the list is (now proven by previous posts to be)  a false view of woman's view of men.

So more accurately, it labels women as always objectifying men.
That is a demeaning dehumanizing generalization of woman.

Wrong.

The list was not made by women, and it is not for women.

The list was made by men, and is for men.  It doesn't exist to help understand a thought process, it exists to give a strawman excuse for hating women.

I'm not sure why you don't recognize this.  The blatant misogyny is so strong in the OP, it gives the average reader here the impression you're either very, very dumb, or are attempting a troll.

Doesn't matter.  I am blinded by my blinding hatred of those who hate women.  This is reinforced by the fact that I have a mother, a wife, and a daughter, and I don't like people who hate them.  So let's just say I have a vested interest in making your stay here as miserable as possible; because you're a bad person.

You do realize that I don't universally hate all women.
I don't think lesser of them either, and in fact there are a lot of ways that they are better than men.
To say that men and women are complete equals is simply wrong, just as saying one is better than the other is completely wrong too.

By hatred, I am referring to a series of defense mechanisms that I have set up because of my past experiences with women. I don't blame them either; my own terrible flaws is what causes the experiences to go bad. (I have had great experiences too, but those don't scar me so its like the bad times are the dominant gene and the good times are receive)

Though I'm saying this to humor you because this post wasn't supposed to be about me. This was supposed to be about this list. I'm not sure why I effect you so much if you think so little of me. Maybe this is your favorite on-line home, and I am a contagion; these reactions being a healthy imune system.

It just seems like you would have ignored me if that were the case.

For sake of better understanding and bridging the communication gap. Was there someone in your life who was very negative to you who left you scars for  you to feel and remember them by?

Of course.  But I didn't suddenly lump all members of whatever gender or race they were into whatever I was angry about.  That would be both illogical and weak.

You're better than me. Must be that simple. Your superiority obviously gives you the right to judge others from a high chair and imply yourself to be a perfect holier than thou person. Your actions obviously seem to be the actions that a logical and strong person would make.

Why do you take this so serious in the first place?
What is accomplished by righting wrongs and laying down judgment within the confounds of an small ambiguous forum when you could be enjoying yourself talking with your friends in the other threads?

Because my friends do not enjoy the vast amounts of free time/fuck off time I enjoy.  They are busy during the daytime.  Nigel, Cain, and LMNO in particular.  Ergo, I am bored.  As I believe I've already mentioned.

I just completely waisted an entire year screwing around too much.

I just want you to know, that is why I am here to stay. I'm trying to spend my time becoming better, because I am aware that I suck.

This is why I am leaving myself exposed to so many criticisms and being completely honest about my flaws. If I cannot be honest to myself, I can at least be honest to other people about myself.

This is why, if you are right about me, I will let you know.
This is also partially why you have seen such a dark side of me.

I really think this is true for when you meet people.
This doesn't seem to apply when logic gives up and
a relationship takes over, or when guys are trying
to take pity on someone. Thats usually a friend zone thing anyway.

Literally all men care about.

1. How tall you are
2. How big your breasts are
3. How much money you make
4. How long your hair is
5. Your social status
6. How fit you are
7. What car you drive (and other various status symbols)
8. What you do at work
9. How popular you are
10. How pretty you are

I'm hoping that some will try to prove or disprove this, inevitable creating some insight about life.
Either that, or you all can just kill me.

That sounds comforting; yet I am not yet convinced that people care about more than that.
Which leads to my discomfort in experiencing any form of agreement with said monkey.

I think this thread shows the real hilarity that results from echo chamber mentalities.  TDS is basically a pack of puerile little freaks who spend their time trying to out-edgy each other, vying for who can be the most misogynistic as a means of proving their bravery to the rest.

Then one of them wanders out from underneath their fart-huffing blanket and says something that is - in their eyes - perfectly normal.  And everyone laughs at him like he was some kind of sideshow geek.  Which, obviously, he is...Having spent a great deal of time and effort to make himself one.

Then come the excuses.  "I hate women because of trauma."  FFS.  He got his widdle heart chipped and that's a reason to hate ALL women.  Well done. Well fucking done.

Compare that to wossname, "Gonad" or whatever it was, also from TDS.  The FUNNIEST part is that they accuse US of being an echo chamber, despite records of us dismembering each other that go back 11 years.  Why are we an echo chamber?  Because we disagree with and mock their precious bigotries and their deeply-cherished cowardice.

Compare to tumblr oppression boards for cheap laughs.

Maybe if they offered social skill classes in the first place people wouldn't be making lists like this.
It seems more like people are causing the deprecation to stray from the issue simply to make the point that the issue isn't worth their attention.

Literally all women care about.

1. How tall you are
2. How big your dick is
3. How much money you make
4. How much hair you have
5. Your social status
6. How fit you are
7. What car you drive (and other various status symbols)
8. What you do at work
9. How popular you are
10. How handsome you are

THIS IS A SELF-DEFENSIVE DELUSION YOU HAVE LATCHED ON TO, EXPLAINING AWAY YOUR PAST REJECTION BY DEMONISING YOUR REJECTORS RATHER THAN TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE PARTS OF YOURSELF THAT ARE DETESTABLE.

BY REDUCING WOMEN TO THESE CONCERNS, YOU CAN COMFORTABLE BELIEVE THAT YOU HAVE OTHER REDEEMING QUALITIES WHICH WOULD MAKE YOU ATTRACTIVE IF ONLY WOMEN WERE NOT SO SHALLOW, BUT AT THE SAME TIME BETRAYING THE FACT THAT 'WINNING PERSONALITY' CANNOT BE ONE OF THESE REDEEMING QUALITIES.

I like the way you put that.
So belief in this would be a 'shell' to break out of.

Is that really that common for people to come here, participate, and get harassed for their efforts?

It doesn't seem like that to me at all. It seems to me more like you are rolling onto your belly and submitting at the first sniff of criticism, grovel grovel, "I am not worthy."

Communication can only happen among equals and you're not behaving like you consider yourself to be one of those.

Well, I'm sorry you 'feel' that way.

If you cannot give a simple explanation, then maybe you do not understand the material enough to be teaching it to somebody.

If we just accept what we're told without asking questions, then that is memorizing and following.
There would be no learning involved.

Just ignore me or something. Wouldn't that solve everything for you?

This thread provides empirical evidence to the contrary. The "material" is basic fucking empathy and understanding that not all X are Y. This is not difficult. It may be news to fucking Aristotle, but we've got a bit more information than him now.

You suggested ignoring you would "solve things". Ignoring you does not solve the problem of your insufferable stupidity. Ignoring problems in general isn't generally a good way to fix them. Again, something you'd understand if you were a functioning adult.

Why do you resent statements pointing out obvious problems with your thinking and behaviour? Insecurity?

Yes, it would solve the problem for you. Out of sight, out of mind. You are simply causing a conflict because there is no plausible productivity that could result from you being malicious.

Tons of insecurity. Its like when a cartoon character tries to plug up a leaking wall.
After fixing one problem, I become able to see more.
All of those problems being fixed causes another series of branches to reveal themselves.

Perfect!

When I'm being polite it hides the fact that I am like this.

Then 'when' they figure out who I really am;
their behavior and attitude towards me changes suddenly.

My emotions lead me to interpret those changes as some form of betrayal.
My foolishness twists the feeling of betrayal into evidence of something about the girl.
When I should be taking their reaction as evidence of my repulsiveness.

Oh how foolish I was being. I'm not saying this is in any way solved,
but I think I'm starting to get a picture of which direction I should go in.

The technical definition of a geek describes me quite well.
Calling that self deprecation would be insulting geeks of the world, careful!
(Sorry for the late reply, decided to enter sleep mode and then re-read all of this to get a seccond impression.)

What the hell are you talking about?  You're addressing me, not Paes, who said the shit about self-depreciation.

Because you are equating this human to a sideshow,
You have failed the TGRR humanity test, which consists of one question:
"Are you able to view other humans as human?"

So many bingo.

Really? Because if you haven't figured it out yet, this board's userbase is made up of about half women. If you have a "general hatred" of us, you can just go fuck right off now.

Perhaps I was blinded by my general hatred of women.

Wow.

Changed it to be a little bit more accurate for you.

Sounds like an all-purpose excuse for bigotry, you giant piece of shit.

I was  molested as a little girl, raped as a young woman, and sexually assaulted on the street just a couple of years ago. Each time, by a white man. According to your coward's logic, that would be a totally excellent excuse for me to hate men and be racist against whites, and I bet all the horrible, horrible "pain" that women have caused you was nothing nearly as awful.

In other words, you're just a weak, pathetic shitstain who uses the ordinary setbacks in life, such as people not liking you, not as lessons in how to better yourself, but as an excuse to blame others and sit in a state of perpetual self-indulgence.

Go fuck yourself, it's obvious with your attitude that NO ONE ELSE EVER WILL.

Well Nigel, I respectfully and remorsefully offer you my condolences. Weather that means anything to you or not. Yes, getting dumped is utterly and humiliatingly trivial compared to the darkness you have endured.

I just really never imagined that such a petty over generalization of a group as diverse as humanity itself would lead to so much indignation. I thought raising this seemingly inconsequential question would be an easy and fun way to lay it to rest further.

I see now that I was wrong to attempt this so crudely because of the possibility that I am talking to someone who has faced real life treachery.

This is in no way a bad experiences contest, but I am no stranger to tragedy either.
Right when I was on my way to my dad's funeral, my childhood pet of 14 years started yelping in pain; had to be brought to the vet on the way and was put to sleep during without getting to say goodbyes. I was alone for months immediately afterward, and life has just never felt the same since.

Thanking you doesn't mean I'm not a complete ingrate, but thank you for the time you have spent answering my unintelligible questions. I understand if I'm irredeemable. Everyone writes me off as bull shit, I'm used to it.

Fuck though, I've had like 5 concussion, how many stitches have you had on your head? The most stitched I've had were 24. I got called hairy potter growing up because of the big scar on my forehead. Dyslexia/adhd and keeping up in school is a struggle involving a lot of effort with very poor grades. If anyone says otherwise who claims to have those things, they are miss diagnosed. I've almost failed every English class I have ever taken and have had to pull a lot of all nighters to receive a failing grade. I have to spell check every single sentence. I'm glad for you guys that you are so fucking literate.

I never once claimed to be a good person or qualified to be a forum poster, I just wanted to try it out. All I have done is spent 3 entire days trying to involve myself in a very eccentric non-pointless on-line community which I think deserves as much attention from people much less shitty than me.

So kill me.....

That being said, however this ends, this has not been a waist of my time, because I am taking self-reform serious.

What the fuck is this wall of bullshit?

I've also had 5 concussions, two of which put me in the hospital, and am epileptic, most likely as a result of repeated concussions in childhood. Do you really want to start playing the "who's had it worse" game? Do you actually think that comparing childhood (or adult) tragedies, illnesses, and setbacks will generate some kind of excuse for piss-poor behavior? For trivializing and dehumanizing other groups of people with "petty overgeneralizations"?

Instead of being a shitty person and then beating yourself up or making excuses for being a shitty person, why not just try to be a better person? Maybe a thoughtful person instead of a thoughtlessly petty overgeneralizing person?

Just seeing this now. Seems like trolling. But, I'll play:

Item 1: I'm the low end of average height, just above the high end of short. I've done well enough in the past.
Item 2: TMI territory, but I've measured it and compared it to reported averages, and I'm exactly average. But the thing is there, the chick's gotta be interested in you in the first place before she even takes a look. And if you're so small at that point that she tells you to put your pants back on, you're pretty fucking small. Chicks aren't interested in the size of your dick until they're actually interested in it to begin with.
Item 3: Hahaha. Yeah, I still have done alright for myself regardless
Item 4: See item 3.
Item 5: See items 3 and 4.
Item 6: I'm not overweight, but otherwise see items 3 through 5
Item 7: I don't have a car at all, nor have I ever owned one. My girlfriend does, and she usually drives unless it's night time and she asks me to because she has shitty night vision, where I am largely nocturnal by nature. I live in a city and can take public transportation, which is a good idea for me considering items 3 and 5. This might also contribute to me doing ok in the item number 6 department, since I walk a lot.
Item 8: See item 3, since it's directly related to that
Item 9: I'm a dork, but I'm generally a likeable person. What do you mean by popular, and by extension, how old are you? I'm 32. Popular isn't really a relevant term outside of high school, since once you reach adulthood, you've probably found a social circle where popularity doesn't really factor in.
Item 10: For a short, bald dude with relatively bad myopia and lack of muscle tone, I think I'm an alright looking dude. My eyes are apparently my prettiest feature. They're more noticeable when the glasses are off or I'm wearing contacts, but I'd say I'm about average.

Assessment: If you're not doing ok in the ladies department, it's your personality. Evidence to back this up: You had 10 items where you apparently have shortcomings and don't have any sort of mitigating personality traits, since these things aren't actually all that important if you're not a jackass.

That sounds comforting; yet I am not yet convinced that people care about more than that.
Which leads to my discomfort in experiencing any form of agreement with said monkey.

Either you only care abut those things, in which case why does it bother you that other people are the same way?  Or else you care about more than that, in which case not all people are that way.

If the vast mojority of people were that way; why point out the few abnormalities and give the bulk of the population the credit?

You are assuming you are a special snowflake,  you are probably not.  In this case I know you aren't because I know I'm also an exception as are all the women I have been involve with.  It's generally best to assume other human beings are like yourself unless given some reason to believe otherwise.

He just never imagined. That a petty overgeneralization about a group of people would lead to indignation.   :lulz:

Because misogyny is "inconsequential".

Evidently, wherever he normally hangs out, people treat it as such.

I'm thinking "wherever he normally hangs out", it's just him and a tubesock

Dammit, now this plan is stuck in my head until i do something with it.

Check the IP. If it matches someone in Victoria, Australia. It's John Tate that Objectivist that Roger,Stella, and Nigel trolled a few times on my wall.

Hey now, I know quite a few nice people that are any combination of short, poor, bald etc etc. Don't use things that aren't insults as insults.
Come to think of it, most insults usually aren't as insulting as the insulter thinks.

Uh, pretty sure he's ironically referring to the list of items in the OP.

Quote from: Resigned Obligatorily on March 05, 2014, 10:55:51 AM

Hes been beaten in an argument and either
a)doesnt want the community to be able to dox him for extended hilarity (why i myself retained my idiot-email)
b) hes ragequit the argument and desired to delete his account so that he isnt tempted to ever return, but on finding it not deletable on the user end, changed his password to random characters, and altered his email to a dead end so that he cant recover it, effectively "deleting" himself

If I wanted this account removed, I'd simply ask.
I'm unsure of the administrative hierarchy, but I'm pretty sure faust is head cheese around here right?

And even in that case, I'd only be removing the account "von" to elliminate any infamy attached to that name. I'll be forthright and say if I had to, I roll an indeterminate number of alts via Tor...hell, since I'm used to identity-less communications, I'd probably be more sufferable that way anyway.

But no...I never plan to leave. I legitimately like it here and have some grand nostalgia for this place -- PD.com got me through some tough times in my younger years, so I could never abandon it.

Faust won't delete your account, so save your breath.

And running an infinite number of alts with which to be insufferable has been done by a multitude of trolls before you, so don't go thinking you're original. We've all played that game.

Lot of that shit applies to me too. I'll let yall guess which. I'd say SOME of that applies to OP... Some of which he has a chip on his shoulder about.

Some people can rock the shortness, use the stump, own the poor, be the bald, possess plebianism, be a citadel of chubby, walk the fucking walk... roll the nickels and dimes... etc etc.

Sartre had a googly eye, Diogenes jerked it in public...

Then some people just fucking blow, attitudinally.

Re: OP - false.  All those things suck, yet only to the extent that we allow them to perpetuate.  The loss is how those designations affect us because we have not "located" the Self to which they refer -  that would simply outstrip them all.
