Title: An amusing bit against the number 5

http://www.randomhouse.ca/hazlitt/feature/rock-solid-argument-against-number-five

QuoteI do not like the number five. I believe Five drives around in a red Mustang wearing mirrored sunglasses. Five lounges at lights with one arm out the window, slapping the side of the car to the beat of Van Halen's "Runnin' With the Devil." I'd like to wipe that look off Five's face. When running, Five bounds with an uneven gait, like a hare with a bum ankle. Five is prime, which I find obnoxious: why should a number refuse to divide by anything other than itself and one? Who does it think it is?

The whole article appears to be a plug for a book about personifying numbers, but it's an inspired (dare I say, Discordian) plug.

That was neat! This Grapes of Math book sounds awesome. Just slip 'em the numeriliogy while they're in casual reading mode and vulnerable, yes.

Bravo, I had to look at your username to realize that was not, in fact, a genuine hirley0 post.

Define 2.5 as an integer.  Then it could be divisible by 5.
Dude, awesome! <( ̄︶ ̄)↗[GO!]

I don't pay anything for this forum to still exist. I'm not an administrator, or a moderator. And, I'm not even close to being one of the very few active members who have been here the longest.

But, you are playing the "Discordian game," you've now introduced yourself, and there's even a possibility that you may decide to hang out here for a while. So, I'll give you two (2), personal, not-really-worth-a-damn, opinions about why your first post here was ignored.

First, you chose your first post to be on a topic that was dead for over ten (10) years.

Second, that dead topic was started by a member who hasn't posted here themselves in over five (5) years.

There are more reasons, of course. But, if you hang around here for a while, you'll figure those out for yourself. I'm tempted to welcome you to the forum, but that's "the kiss of death" around here.

what is the "the kiss of death" ?
You Mean:  agents monitoring this website ? MayBe.....

I've made a rough observation of some of the posts: quite a few high-quality users have gone quiet. For example, Pastor Roger... Did he die, or was there some reason that forced him to leave the site?

This is a excellent explanation of the American expression "the kiss of death." I suspect this "cultural meme" is fading in popularity, as Hollywood no longer produces anywhere near as many "cops and robbers" TV shows and movies, based upon the once powerful Italian/American Mafia and "G-men," as it once did.

Kiss of death (mafia) (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kiss_of_death_(mafia))

I remember this particular "cultural meme" being a staple of the old, extremely popular, black-and-white The Untouchables TV series.

Roger still posts prolifically as Doktor Howl. And, there's even a Xerox Copy of him here on the forum. But, I'll let you figure out who that is by yourself.

Last, after they have been here for a while, some newer forum members chose to give themselves what they believe to be an appropriate Holy Name™.

Haha, you forgot I'm Chinese—and a post-2000s kid at that. I personally barely touch things like Hollywood—I basically don't watch movies at all.  哈哈  哈哈  哈哈

Let me think... Anyway, I'll hit up this guy when I have time. After all, the reason I came to this forum is to find the Illuminati. I know the Illuminati might not have a physical presence, but the puppets definitely belong to secret societies.
让我想想 ... 无论如何有时间我要骚扰一下这个老哥,毕竟我来论坛的目的就是寻找光明会 我知道光明会也许没有实体,但是傀儡们是明确存在秘密结社的 。

An ambitious person must find a society if they want to seek power.
Why? Because an individual cannot stand against the machine formed by a group, which is the embodiment of absolute power.
Intelligent people are only fit to work as subordinates for an organization—only an organization can truly control the world.

野心家要谋求权利,必须找到一个会社 。 为什么?因为个体无法对抗群体组成的机器,后者是绝对力量的化身 。 聪明人只配给组织打打下手而已,只有组织才能真正的控制世界 。

Not at all. But, as I know little about your culture, I can not explain American cultural memes to you in terms I am certain will be familiar to you. And, even here in American, I can never be certain that the cultural memes of my generation, or the various subcultures I travel among, will be understood by our own younger generations, or other subcultures.
