20th century industry - Competition was the order of the day. Hardly surprising given we're a warlike species. The keywords were Hostile Takeover, Price Wars, smashing the competition
21st century industry - Is all about collaboration. Keywords are Open Source, Developers, Ecosystem, Partners.
QuoteGiven that annual new vehicle production is approaching 100 million per year and the global fleet is approximately 2 billion cars, it is impossible for Tesla to build electric cars fast enough to address the carbon crisis. By the same token, it means the market is enormous. Our true competition is not the small trickle of non-Tesla electric cars being produced, but rather the enormous flood of gasoline cars pouring out of the world's factories every day.
Congratulations on the good thinking Tesla.
I would seriously do anything to that man.
Holy shit!
I admired the guy for building Tesla motors but I didn't expect him to succeed, let alone donate all of their work for anyone to use.
I'm still trying to pick my jaw up off the ground.
Woaaaah
Anyone want to make a Discordicar?

He's one of the new breed. Right now there are dozens of others redefining the rulebook. What I'm predicting is a rapid paradigm shift as the old guard no longer possess the acumen to survive in a landscape where the rules are turned on their head. All the money and all the power is shifting into the hands of people for whom money and power is merely a means to an end, rather than the end in itself.
Sooner or later someone like Musk or Google or Naveen Jain is going to make a move on world government. Can't happen too soon, imo.
