rooting through my box here for a resume, i found soem old poems from when i could still write at the pub:
Quote from: unnamed poem one
i dreamed a dream
i was a wake
and then i was
upon the merry
rolling hills of hell
crashing upon some distant tide
a folded sky from stars
shone down and you
your naked eyes
transfixed upon oblivion
Quote from: unnamed poem two
oh these waking times
this terrible burden of
connected moments
held linear by a tether.
for dreams are what is true,
in those lucid times
events unconnected
with no memory
of purpose or name,
nor of self or being.
take me back then
to that fall
that bliss
which is tasted from
within the depths
of sweet abyss and
warm nothing.
dude, they are really top. you should post them on a forum or something. or better yet send them to a publisher.
i have a carp load of stuff from this period that i might jsut do that with.
i thinkthis tuff is from teh waking. or the electric apple, tho electric apple i think was sposed to be poetic soemthign or other with ahab and ishtar(can't recall where i put that stuff, the best one of that may be gone now, teh rest got a bit too pretentious for my liking)
you should collect about 30 together. write a synopsis, and maybe an essay.faber and faber would be a good bet. or jim dodges publisher, i think that might be v or vintage.they would lap that up.i do. but id say thats pretty perfect as it is.and i normally hate poetry.
Yeah, your poetry is great, horab.
Hoshiko put a link to help people get published in the library forum.
I'd suggest sending them to a publisher, pronto....at least, if that's the alternative to posting them on these here forums....

That is some pretty good stuff. Don't listen to the Goat McTurd
Those are really good. Most major publishers (even for poetry) only accept agented stuff, but I found a list of publishers and magazines that take email and slush submissions. I'll post it in the Library.
Admit it, Hosh... You're just ducking our game, because you don't want to re-enact the "prom" scene in Carrie....
Not that that'll be the punishment, of course...
well thanks folks. i wouldn't hold yall's breath. the first couple of ppl who'ce seen soem of these said to get em published too, but i'm more of a mind to wait until i'm dead and have my kids or the benefactorees of my estate fidn em and go through th ehassle of it.
spoken like a true artiste!
anyway, everyone knows that true genius almost always only receives its glory posthumously...

and there you are. i know i woun't be satisfied by success in having my work publicsed or makign money from it, since i've already decided the true test of wether art is good or not is if people enjoy it many hundreds of years after one's death.
What's the point of being rich and famous if you're dead?
maybe i don't want to be rich and famous? mayb ei want to beimpoverished marry a hooker so then goddess can make a real life analogy from that to mdoern day western society, such as ol yaweh did back in the book of hosea (http://www.jaypinkerton.com/hosea.html)
i,d rather have money than fame. cannongate. just saying.

Ager'd.
Ah, yes, the whores of whoredom parable in the bible. I was thinking that was somewhere else, but like lots of bible stories, it is probably repeated.
id sell my arse for a gallon of fish brains.
Could you maybe sell your arse for something besides fish brains?
Cuz I'm trying to eat my breakfast here.

Just what the hell are you doing up so early, again. Can't anybody sleep any more? I woke up at 4:30. By the time I was ready to go back to sleep, it was time to get up. An my son was awake anyway, so I couldn't say fuck it to the alarm.

Nope, I'm in non-sleeping zombie mode again.
Also, I'm on my way to the city to fetch my daughter for a night or two.
Sorry to hear you're up early today. That stinks.
But not as much as a gallon of fish heads.

hehehehehe
This is true. Maybe I'm a zombie and I don't know it. I go through this from time to time. Not sleeping, waking up after a few hours and not being able to get back to sleep. I wonder around like a zombie when I don't get sleep, I can tell you that
QuoteCan't anybody sleep any more?
Not while school's in session, no! Average school night I get to bed at 2 at the earliest. Then it's up at 5:30 or maybe 5:45 if I'm sleeping in and class from 8 to 4 for me and 8 to 8 for Reset.... (http://www.kucinich.us/phpBB2/images/smiles/015.gif)
i sleep about 8 hours a day, and about 12 at night
Quote from: slothrop unloadedi sleep about 8 hours a day, and about 12 at night
Me too. Or more.
I average around 4 hours of sleep a night...which actually means that about half the time I get 6 or 7 hours, and the other half of the time I get an hour or two...
actually, I lied...the hour or two nights probably outnumber the 6 or 7 hour nights by a 2 to 1 margin...

I'm at my best when I can get 8, but that's not often. Both nights of the overnight I stayed up to 5AM and got up at 11 or so. It'll be fun to get up at 7 tomorrow.
Bob, "sleep is for the weak."
Words to live by. :P
i once knew a man who said "sleep is for teh dead"
he's havign a nap atm.

It's funny, I joined the forum only a few months after this, which means I was lurking by this point and yet have no memory of the board being such a circle jerk. At least AC wasn't in this thread.
