Really, I would think you would like a song like this one :?

Quote from: She's Leaving HomeWednesday morning at five o'clock as the day begins

Silently closing her bedroom door, leaving the note that she hoped would say more

She goes downstairs to the kitchen, clutching her handkerchief,

Quietly turning the back door key, stepping outside she is free

She (we gave her most of our lives), is leaving (sacrificed most of our lives)

home (we gave her everything money could buy),

She's leaving home after living alone for so many years (bye bye)

Father snores as his wife gets into her dressing gown

Picks up the letter that's lying there, standing alone at the top of the stairs

She breaks down and cries to her husband daddy our baby's gone Why would she treat us so thoughtlessly, how could she do this to me?

She (We never thought of ourselves), is leaving (never a thought for ourselves),

home (we struggled hard all our lives to get by)

She's leaving home after living alone for so many years (bye, bye), Friday morning at nine o'clock she is far away

Waiting to keep the appointment she made, meeting a man from the motor trade

She (what did we do that was wrong), is having (we didn't know it was wrong),

fun (fun is the one thing that money can't buy)

Something inside that was always denied for so many years (bye, bye), she's leaving home (bye ,bye)

Recorded at Studio Two, Abbey Road, March 17 & 20, 1967.The album version is mixed from take 9.

Earlier in the year 1967, Paul came across a newspaper article in the Daily Mail about a seventeen-year-old girl who had been missing for weeks. The article quoted her father saying "I can't imagine why she should run away, she has everything here." Based on this article, Paul wrote She's Leaving Home.

Quote from: Lennon/McCarthy
I once had a girl, or should I say, she once had me
She showed me her room, isn't it good, norwegian wood?

She asked me to stay and she told me to sit anywhere
So I looked around and I noticed there wasn't a chair

I sat on the rug, biding my time, drinking her wine
We talked until two and then she said, "It's time for bed"

She told me she worked in the morning and started to laugh
I told her I didn't and crawled off to sleep in the bath

And when I awoke I was alone, this bird had flown
So I lit a fire, isn't it good, norwegian wood?

And their Big TOP 40 Hit!

Quote from: Lennon/McCarthy
Why don't we do it in the road? Mm
Why don't we do it in the road? Ah
Why don't we do it in the road? Mm
Why don't we do it in the road? Mm
No one will be watching us
Why don't we do it in the road?

Why don't we do it in the road?
Why don't we do it in the road?
Why don't we do it in the road?
Why don't we do it in the road?
No one will be watching us
Why don't we do it in the road?

Ooh

Why don't we do it in the road?
Why don't we do it in the road?
Why don't we do it, do it in the road?
Why don't we do it in the road?
No one will be watching us
Why don't we do it in the road?

I didn't realize this was based on a true story

QuoteThe Beatles generally didn't care much for this song, except McCartney, who wrote it. What does it mean? It's a novelty song about a serial killer, Maxwell Edison, a medical student who first kills his girlfriend with a silver hammer, then a teacher, followed by a judge. The "pataphysical," is an avant-garde word invented by Alfred Jarry, a French pioneer of the absurd theatre, which describes a branch of metaphysics.

Quote from: Maxwell's Silver HammerJoan was quizzical, studied pataphysical science in the home

Late nights all alone with her a test tube, Oh, oh, oh, oh

Maxwell Edison, majoring in medicine, calls her on the phone, "Can I take you out to the pictures Jo-o-o-oan?"

But as she's getting ready to go, a knock comes on the door

Bang! Bang! Maxwell's silver hammer came down upon her head

Clang! Clang! Maxwell's silver hammer made sure that she was dead

Back in school again Maxwell plays the fool again, teacher gets annoyed, Wishing to avoid and unpleasant scene-e-e-ene

She tells Max to stay when the class has gone away, so he waits behind, Writing fifty times "I must not be so-o-o-o" But when she turns her back on the boy, he creeps up from behind

Bang! Bang! Maxwell's silver hammer came down upon her head

Clang! Clang! Maxwell's silver hammer made sure that she was dead, P.C. thirty one said "we've caught a dirty one"

Maxwell stands alone, painting testimonial pictures, oh, oh, oh,oh

Rose and Valerie screaming from the gallery, say he must go free, The judge does not agree, and he tells them so-o-o-o

But, as the words are leaving his lips, a noise comes from behind

Bang! Bang! Maxwell's silver hammer came down upon her head

Clang! Clang! Maxwell's silver hammer made sure that he was dead, Silver hammer man

QuoteWhat I believe to be one of Lennon's greatest songs is "In My Life." In this he is reflecting on his boyhood days, where he is imagining a bus ride through the streets of Liverpool from his house on Menlove Avenue to the docks, whereby he used all the places that held a special significance to him as a young boy. It was Lennon's nostalgic way of mentioning the friends and lovers and the world he left behind. Upon his tragic death in 1980, this song took on the role as his personal epitaph, something that I believe Lennon would have wanted. This song and "Imagine," are those by Lennon that hold the most meaning for me. This was recorded on October 18 and 22, 1965.

Quote from: In My LifeThere are places I remember, all my life, though some have changed

Some forever not for better, some have gone and some remain

All these places have their moments, with lovers and friends, I still can recall

Some are dead and some are living, in my life, I've loved them all

But of all these friends and lovers, there is no one compares with you

And these memories lose their meaning, when I think of love as something new

Though I know I'll never lose affection, for people and things that went before

I know I'll often stop and think about them, in my life I love you more

Though I know I'll never lose affection, for people and things that went before

I know I'll often stop and think about them, in my life I love you more, in my life I love you more

QuoteRecorded on October 21 and 22, 1965, this song by Lennon is distinctive because it was the first Beatles' song not to be about love. It was written as John's desperation of feeling like the "Nowhere Man." One day after writing songs for five solid hours, he feared he could not complete another song for this album. It describes John's deficiency in his belief in himself to finish songs.

Quote from: Nowhere ManHe's a real nowhere man, sitting in his nowhere land, making all his nowhere plans for nobody

Doesn't have a point of view, knows not where he's going to, isn't he a bit like you and me?

Nowhere man please listen, you don't know what you're missing, nowhere man, the world is at your command

He's as blind as he can be, just sees what he wants to see, nowhere man, can you see me at all

Nowhere man don't worry, take your time, don't hurry, leave it all, till somebody else, lends you a hand

Ah, la, la, la, la

Doesn't have a point of view, knows not where he's going to, isn't he a bit like you and me?

Nowhere man please listen, you don't know what you're missing, nowhere man, The world is at your command

Ah, la, la, la, la

He's a real nowhere man, sitting in his nowhere land, making all his nowhere plans for nobody

Making all his nowhere plans for nobody, making all his nowhere plans for nobody

Quote from: I'm Looking Through You
I'm looking through you, where did you go? I thought I knew you, what did I know?

You don't look different, but you have changed, I'm looking through you, you're not the same

Your lips are moving, I cannot hear, Your voice is soothing, but the words aren't clear

You don't sound different, I've learned the game, I'm looking through you, you're not the same

Why, tell me why did you not treat me right, love has a nasty habit of disappearing overnight You're thinking of me, the same old way, You were above me, but not today

The only difference is you're down there, I'm looking through you, and you're nowhere

Why, tell me why did you not treat me right, love has a nasty habit of disappearing overnight

I'm looking through you, where did you go? I thought I knew you, what did I know?

You don't look different, but you have changed, I'm looking through you, you're not the same

From http://www.urologychannel.com/common/glossary/index_a_d.shtml

"Allergy: inappropriate or exaggerated reaction of the immune system to substances that cause no symptoms in most people, eg, reactions to chemical exposure, respiratory reactions to dust, pollen or other substances, reactions to food."

When you smoke pot, most people do not have an immune system response.  Rather, certain chemical receptors in the brain are engaged, resulting in feelings of euphoria, etc.

People like Bella are affected in this way, making them unable to smoke pot.

Now shut up.

the THC receptors in the brain are so prevalent, neurologists are referring to it as the cannabinoid system. in fact, current research is finding that there's more of these types of receptors than other kinds - seems to be connected with dopamine.

essentially, THC will affect the brain globally rather than being more area specific as some other drugs.

This is a quote from the website, I was 4 or 5 when this aired and having my first 'episode', more than likely :?

QuoteAll You Need Is Love

In 1967, the people at the BBC approached The Beatles and asked them if they would take part in the first ever live global television event, which was to be a two hour program broadcast to 26 counties simultaneously. It involved the broadcasting networks of North America, Europe, Central America, Scandinavia, North Africa, Australia and Japan. The Beatles were asked to write a song that could be understood in any language. Both Lennon and McCartney began working separately on songs, until Lennon came up with this classic, All You Need Is Love. It was perfect for the theme, and conveyed his message of "love" that he tried so hard in his life to get the world to evoke. The telecast was titled simply Our World, and turned out to be the forerunner of other events such as Live Aid, Farm Aid and the like. I remember it well - being transfixed to the television, as I did years earlier during the famous Ed Sullivan Show appearance. Those that have watched John Lennon perform on song videos and some live performances, know that he almost always chewed gum while singing. It is quite apparent while watching this performance, thou never a detriment to his singing.
Quote
Love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, there's nothing you can do that can't be done

Nothing you can sing that can't be sung, nothing you can say but you can learn how the play the game, It's easy

There's nothing you can make that can't me made, no one you can save that can't be saved

Nothing you can do but you can learn how to be you in time, It's easy

All you need is love, all you need is love, all you need is love, love, love is all you need

Love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love

All you need is love, all you need is love, all you need is love, love, love is all you need

There's nothing you can know that isn't known, nothing you can see that isn't shown

Nowhere you can be that isn't where you're meant to be, it's easy

All you need is love, all you need is love, all you need is love, love, love is all you need

All you need is love, (all together now) all you need is love, (everybody), all you need is love, love

Love is all you need, love is all you need, (Repeat)

Love is all you need, love is all you need, love is all you need, love is all you need

(She loves you, yeah, yeah yeah) love is all you need

Wasn't that Ringo?

Paul's written much shittier songs than that.

And The Beatles are not a weapon in trolling. That's like trolling with Yeats' poetry. And every Beatles song is my favourite Beatles song. They all own far too much for me to pick just one.

Quote from: Dr. David ThorpeCritics of the Beatles generally fall into two categories: either they,Äôre fifteen years old and trying to rise above their peers on the coolness ladder by iconoclastically bashing what they consider untouchable by criticism (the same kids who will later impress their friends by talking about what a hack Shakespeare was), or they,Äôre humorless aficionados of jazz or classical who think of The Beatles as the four mop-topped horsemen of the apocalypse.

As much as I love Turd, he might be boardering on the former. (Not that he's 15)

For the sake of objectivity, I should post the rest of the paragraph.

Quote from: Dr. David ThorpeJust because both of those types of people are retards, however, doesn,Äôt mean that the Beatles aren,Äôt shit. Yes, everyone knows that they started out as a fairly irritating pop band beloved by shrieking, frumpy teenage girls, but that actually isn,Äôt why they suck. Things didn,Äôt start getting really unbearable until John Lennon and George Harrison turned into pretentious, drug -addled proto-hippie cultists and Paul McCartney decided to start writing whimsical ditties. Ringo, of course, did not have to make any significant adjustments in order to suck. For every memorable ,Äúclassic,Äù Beatles song, there are five that are annoying novelty songs, four that are unbearably dated, three that are worthless R&B covers, two that are failed sonic experiments, and one that,Äôs written by Ringo. If we wash all of those away from their dozen or so studio albums, we,Äôre left with about half an album,Äôs worth of decent material. the beatles were ok, btu the real stars of the psychadelic era were pin kfloyd.

john paul george and ringo bought a fake guru, syd barret wen t insane adn inspired 3 fo the greatest albums ever recorded in any genre. teh fourth great album by pink floyd, although nto inspired directly or in part by syd(roger), is till one of teh gtreatest albums of any genre ever recorded.

never mention meddle, which although sub greatest album in any genre, still r0x0rz with oen fo these days and echoes(never mind the othe r3 songs which also rock.)

The Beatles and Pink Floyd are tied in terms of pure unadulterated awesomeness but are both trumped by Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention. If any one person has earned the right to make fun of The Beatles, it's Frank Zappa, and he's dead.

Pink Floyd is actually probably overrated. (Except the word "overrated" is thrown around so much by music nerds it no longer has any meaning) Not to say that they aren't mind-numbingly awesome, but they're made out to be the Mecca of post-60s psychedelia, as if not listening to them every single night and being seen without a faded Dark Side of the Moon T-shirt was some sort of sin against hippie-dom, when in reality, there are prog rock bands like ELO and The Moody Blues that are almost as good and get no recognition at all.

Pink Floyd was awful redundant. (I think Coldplay listened to too much
Pink Floyd.)

The Beatles were the first band I liked. Before them all I listened to were
whatever my sisters were playing. (Elvis)

Later I was really into the Byrds, the Yardbirds and the Who. Still have
all the vinyls.

Zappa really blew me away, too. I was playing in this band, so I haunted
the record store looking for music, and Freak Out! was hanging on the
wall staring at me for the longest time. Who was this band called the
Mothers of Invention and why did they have this wierd album cover?
(I was in Indiana remember.) Finally I couldn't take it any more and I
bought the album. (I had finally found the source for all the Suzy
Creamcheese cuts the local djs played.) I remember thinking, if they
could get somebody who can sing, these guys would be really good.
Remember the quote on the album, some record co. pr guy who said
"I can make you as big as the Turtles"? Yeah, later Frank hires Flo
and Eddie to sing.

BTW, one of my favorite things to listen to is Patrick O'Hearn, who does
new age electronic stuff. Guess whose bass player he was? Yup. Frank.

Yep, he hated writing lyrics, even though he loved writing music.  So sometimes, well, hehehaha, lots of times, he would write ridiculous lyrics.  And on the, I think it was American Bandstand, he asked his band to mouth anything except the correct lyrics when told they were supposed to lip sync rather than actually sing.
