After the local warlord enslaves you, you'll pull it with a rope.

Enough Americans *already* can't afford competent medical treatment, or painless dentistry. I'll go with gradual decline, until large portions of the nation sort of resemble a bad day in Brazil.

That's apocalyptic enough to be depressing.

You, sir are a hopeless optimist.

let's just burn shit already.

I'm sick of all this fucking around.

I want my doom NOW, when I'm still in posession of enough youthful vigor to enjoy it.

You can't rush these things.

Unless you're highly placed in government.

The man who isn't, and does, shall be like unto a GOD.

It's inevitable, but probably not even within our lifetimes....

It will be slow and unseen....and then one day people will wake up and realize that Juan the Landscaper has decided to take the house he worked so hard to keep pretty. Pedro the Busboy will no longer clean the tables for the gringo slobs. And all of you people who thought I was nuts for suggesting some of us go hide out in the mountains and learn how to hunt so we don't have to squabble with survivors in the cities for tinned food...all of you will know.

But that's that. Let's not scare anyone. They only want entertainment and self-help affirmations. The die off is coming in any event. May as well let some of them avoid seeing the hammer drop.

It is the aftermath after all....what did you all expect? Timothy Leary's drug apocalypse?

That is exactly why it is a good thing that some us have been vaccinated from the sort of things that will kill all of the people in your cities. We told you time and again that we won't tolerate you Communo-fascists. Neither will our germs.

Thats the sad truth.  A spectacular burny, apocalyptic end would be much more fun and thats what people expect, so it wont happen that way.  Because if it did, then people might actually join in, somthing might come of it.  Instead, slow and insidious is the way forward.  No-one notices, and by the time they realize they're up to their eyeballs in debt, cant afford to send their kids to University and cant afford healthcare, its too late.

*ahem*

Freedom is not of the body, but of the mind and soul.

Slap the sage silly, please.

I disgaree. Of course, I don't see any demarcations between the mind and the body (the mind being the brain being integrated with the body to such a degree that the two are indistinguishable), and I seriously doubt the existence of the soul beyond metaphor. So, it stands to reason that I'd disagree.
