This thought just popped into my head and I will share it with you all now.
Okay, so the Sun has just started to die. We know that we are going to be bathed in its death-throe-radiation in a matter of days. What will people do?
Go to their local supermarket and buy a whole bunch of crap.
Where did this flight response come from?
Do you suppose cavemen did this sort of thing everytime they saw a grey cloud?
People have some pretty whacky priorities in their lives.

People are fear engrained. Responses like this are to fear of things unimaginable, things so truly terrifying that the responce is to pretend its not as bad as it could be.

There's always the possibility. Though it's more likely we'll erupt into nuclear world wide war. Many will die and those that survive will reproduce and their offspring will be glowing green and have 5 arms for about 50 generations.
