Thanx. Tell your friends. Tell your enemies. Just tell.

Like the topic sez. I started a blog. Some political rantings. Socioeconomic stuff, and a whole lot of "think for yourself"

don't know if it would interest you at all, but you can get a similar gloss/strength finish using danish oil followed by beeswax, I think it's quite a lot cheaper and less toxic than lacquer, more drying time though

xx

There are acoustic reason why such finishes are not used. Similar to the difference between a drum head and a lump of clay. The nitrocellulose lacquers make the already resonant woods  impervious to moisture from humidity, as well as being consistently resonant themselves. The oil and beeswax would deaden the resonance of the wood, and have a surprisingly large effect on the sound of the guitar. Also, the lacquers "set" after about a week, and while still toxic if ingested, can not transfer any toxicity through the skin. Still flammable as all get out, though

I'm a big fan of bleach for bathroom cleaning... But, I think maybe one of those Calcium Lime Rust products might help after Pennsic. ( I know the bank balance thingy might hinder that...)

How's it going, Rob?

Not too horrible. You? Congrats on your not Pennsic dust tan.

Who the fuck are you and why do I allow you to live in my Principality?

My goodness. What an ang-ry young lady you are Suu. Really. Such a mad kid...

Why do you let me live in your principality? I joined the "I Killed Feral von H." club when you could still count your age using your fingers, not the fingers you acquired as trophies....

You tagged my son's Godfather (Colin/Ken) in your pics from Penny Xtra Large on FaceBuk.

We've never met in person, but we have friends in common (Colin, as he used to spell it, and Cuddlefission [being the one who invited me here] being among them.), as well as being FaceBuk "acquaintances" with you.

There was a mention of thousands of  Discordians living in RI. So I figured I'd see how many were willing to declare.

divorce the signal from its political context

is it a good signal?

that's the pragmatic question to ask

If you dismiss the carbon-emission message because the guy championing it is not a pure-hearted messiah who walks barefoot through the crowds,
there's a good chance you are unable to recognize a good signal when you hear it anyway.

Hear hear! Well said.

I think the thing that did it for me was being presented with the famously uptight Al Gore spewing those "naughty" words... You can almost hear the spittle escaping his mouth during the explosive consonants.

My favorite Al Gore joke? One he actually uttered himself:
"How do you find Al Gore in a room full of Secret Service agents? He's the stiff one."

On the one hand, its kinda fun to see folks like him get all worked up.
On the other hand, he reacts like he wasn't aware of the tactics and methods until recently. C'mon... He was VP, fer krissake... He didn't expect anyone to use this kinda shit after he left office?
