I absolutely adore this group. Unfortunately some of the links on their site are broken. I approve of the pranks that they pull on the public. I also adore the show that they had on Comedy Central. Apparently they've got an improv school in California and New York. S'bout it for this post. Just thought someone here might enjoy it.

I was writing a letter (Yes, honest letter snail mail zomg who still writes those?) to my Grandma and was updating her on my life and ended up writing a bit that I thought I'd like to share. Feel free to kick me, hard, in the nads if it's warranted.

"Anyway, I've decided that when I go back to college I'm going to study English so I can teach. I'll probably start at the high school level and then maybe move on to the college level as I continue studying. Or maybe I'll stay at high school. I don't really know, for certain.

I want to be a writer too. And I want to make music. I think what it is is that I want to make people feel--to think. To move them, get them to go outside their box for five seconds. I think that's why I want to teach, too. I don't expect to make a major impact, not anymore than a book you've read or a song you've heard. Even an influential teacher only does so much; in the end it's your own responsibility to make your own decisions. I think a nudge is helpful, a subtle push or a sly wink is enough. Any more is dogmatic and I'm not here to force it on anyone. It's your decision to listen or to put me down, to turn me off, or tune me out. I respect that; if I'm free to make my decisions then so are you, y'know?"

I'm currently reading the Belgariad series by David Eddings. I'm still on book one though, just haven't quite made it through the last quarter of the book. >_<

That'd work if we had it on land, such as a power generator on earth based on such a principle. For a space ship, that'd probably start in space (and we'd shuttle up to it) it may be too expensive. Though, in that case a lot of space junk that is in orbit already could be used.

Yeah, I wasn't too clear on my thinking. I was meaning if we were to use it for some sort of energy down on the earth. If it pumped out as much energy as they're thinking it could power a large chunk of a city, maybe? Hell, I don't know. All I know is I'd pay handsomely* for someone to write on the apparatus that you used to feed the black hole "Mr. Fusion" A'La Back to the Future.

* Provided I actually had money.

Apparently BHs are pretty efficient at converting matter to energy. Best of all, unlike nuclear fusion it really doesn't matter what you feed them.

This got me thinking and I may just be an idiot when I say this so feel free to shake the crime stick at me -but- if you can feed them just any old matter then it makes me wonder if we can't use it to cull the heaping landfills we've got to "burn" as a "fuel". Just a thought.

Damn, Roger. That was -awesome-. The part I liked the best, aside from the actual content of the piece, was the pacing.

I'm personally a fan of Killian's Irish Red. Tried that stuff for the first time a few months back and it was delicious.

I like "Chocolate Cake of Death" better though. It sounds more in your face and more likely that the chocolate might actually fuck you up.

  All of this sounds so fucking good. I'm gonna have to post up some of my favorite recipes here. Dammit, now I have to go find something to eat because reading all that made me hungreh.
