I didn't expect the right wing brain washing tactics to be so efficient. Now for many swiss people, the word "Islam" means something like "terror". Most political parties showed themselves "surprised" of the results, now everyone says he voted against the prohibition.

Me = not proud of my people.

There are 4 minarets in Switzerland. There have never been any islamic terror in Switzerland. I've followed the recent political discussions before the results. The main argumentation really was:

forced marriages, "honour" killings, female genital mutilation and oppression of women"

But it was enough to convince a majority of voters. The minarets also have been directly linked to the increasing number of criminal youngsters from other countries. Of course it was not mentionned that there are simply more cases documented. Things which have been considered bagatelles in former times are now (politically/religiously/gang) motivated crimes.

If the ban of minarets included church towers, i would have voted yes too.

Christmas is coming. Again I have observed an increasing number of christians who want other people to accept Jesus. Two days ago i saw two guys who, shouting, read bible passages in front of children on a schoolyard. I talked to them but I can't talk to all of them.

FP: I think i can follow your critics. The source code metaphor sure has some weaknesses. ,,Compiling" from a programmer's view is not a choice, because in order for the machine to understand a source code, it MUST be compiled. Otherwise i'd have to talk about ,,scripts" which are interpreted instead of compiled (so the programmer and the machine read from the same text).
And yes, a thought can be deconstruced. But a compiled code can also be deconstructed, that's what is called decompiling. Now i have the problem that it's harder to understand a compiled code instead of an open source text. This doesnt go with my metaphor.

Rong: I like the ,,dividing-by-zero" thing. Like if you call a function in a way which was not at all planned ty the programmer and which leads to a crash of a current process. Also one could speak of buffer overflows which can happen if a function gets data which don't fit the reserved memory.

Prat Fest: So i could say that one basic memebomb attack is to inject packages which lead to unsolvable conflicts between certain inner processes, forcing the remote machine to recompile them.

The technology sounds pretty useful. And if it's open source, one could run it on own servers so google wouldn't get any data.

Im in a love-hate relationship with Google.

The first place where I read the word "memebomb" was this board. As I understood a memebomb is a short phrase which is intended to change the reader's consciousness of certain things. It must be a well prepared meme though, because the writer of the meme probably has some idea about how this change would have to look like. Or maybe the intention is to change a specific part of the reader's consciousness in a random way? Or even change random parts of it in a random way?

Since i read about memebombs, i have compared them with specially crafted packages which are sent in a computer network to gain privileges on an other computer or to change it's settings. Ok i have started to compare humans to computers, so i go on. Let's say every human being has a basic root shell for it's own machine. It has access to a large number of hardware/software functions such as moving our legs, getting signals of the eyes or linking a tree to the word "tree".

Our hardware drivers symbolize our power to use those functions. As a child, we have learnt how to walk, how to interpret the signals coming from the eyes (e.g. turning the image upside down in our mind because it's sent to us upside down) and how to call a tree "tree". As a child we wrote those drivers by ourselves, learning the functions from observing/getting taught by others or through the success-failure-principle. After writing such a driver the next step is to get used to the driver. At this point we compile the driver into a binary in order to have it ready to use at every moment. In this step most of our driver's source code information becomes unnessecary or gets lost. As soon a driver shows acceptable results we forget all about the learning process, how the driver came together and possible bugs contained. We just use it. We don't have to think how to walk, how to see and how to acknowledge a tree.

For acknowledging a tree is quite a simple mental activity, let's look at more complicated ones, like opinions or social behaviour. We also have read-and-write access to our "having opinions" or "acting in a group" drivers, but we tend to synchronize our data with other humans and we have problems telling apart our self-written data and another one's data. Also there are many security holes which lead to unwanted manipulation and which allow others to inject specially crafted packages, such as propaganda, advertising or memebombs. But how to protect oneself from manipulation? A common practise is to finaly compile one's own opinion drivers and delete the source code, so they seemingly can't be changed by anyone anymore. This practise gives one the illusion of security and i call it dogma. In fact, compiling your own opinion into a dogma and deleting the source code makes manipulation more difficult only for yourself. For people who want to manipulate you it's mostly still the same game because a manipulator doesn't nessecarily have to know your source sode. There are many other ways to find security holes: Observing your output signals (words, noise, body language...), studying human's program code (psychology, esoteric crap), hardware details (neuroscience) or just intuition.

What's the difference between propaganda and meme bombs? I think propaganda wants to change the opinion drivers of people in a specific way and make people compile those drivers after changing. Memebombs howewer want to get people to de-compile or rewrite their own opinion drivers and keep as many drivers as possible open source. Both propaganda and memebombs seem to become more efficient if they are seen/heard more often.

1. What methods for finding security holes and preparing the proper memebombs do you prefer? 
2. (How) do you want to modify the drivers of the reader?

Du hörst besser damit auf, bevor dich jemand sieht... du könntest Ärger kriegen, oder schlimmer noch: Du könntest sogar dumm und uncool dabei aussehen!
Schau mal, du Genie... die herrschenden Mächte arbeiten sehr hart daran, dass du die Informationen und die Unterhaltung kriegst, die du brauchst. Und DAS soll der Dank dafür sein? Indem du irgend einen subversiven Flyer liest, der wahrscheinlich von einem dahergelaufenen Freak hier gelassen wurde? Na, wenn DAS für dich Dankbarkeit bedeutet...
Solltest diesen Schund nicht eigentlich beiseite legen und den Fernseher einschalten? Sehr wahrscheinlich verpasst du gerade jetzt etwas, ohne das es sich schwer leben lässt. Wie wird das denn morgen in der Mittagspause aussehen, wenn alle über die letzte Folge ,,Deutschland sucht den Superstar"(1) sprechen, und du hast sie verpasst? Du wirst der Hanswurst sein. Deine Mitarbeiter werden hinter deinem Rücken über dich reden, du wirst nicht mehr dazu gehören. Ich wünsch dir jedenfalls viel Glück bei deinem Vorhaben.
Also schau mal... leg das jetzt sofort weg, bevor dich jemand damit sieht. Wir tun so, als ob es nie passiert ist, ok? Jetzt zurück an die Arbeit, und konzentrier dich gefälligst darauf, worauf du dich konzentrieren musst!

Viele von uns machen sich nicht mehr die Mühe, ihre Botschaft umständlich zu verschleiern.
Einige von uns können zwar lose Metaphern zusammenbasteln, doch den meisten ist das ewige Versteckspiel um den Sinn inzwischen zu blöde. Am Ende verstehen die Leute dann nicht mal mehr, was wir sagen möchten.
Für die Leute ist die Zeit gekommen, für sich selbst zu denken. Sich nach Anderen zu richten und ihren Wünschen zu entsprechen hat bis heute nicht geklappt.
Heutzutage ist es wirklich schwierig, zu ignorieren, was auf der Welt für ein Durcheinander herrscht, so wird es für uns umso nötiger, sich nicht einschränken zu lassen.
Wir wollen, dass die Leute für sich selber denken, und das sagen wir mit einem Groll auf das, was auf der Welt vor sich geht.

Wir wollen nicht deine Mitgliedschaft und wir wollen nicht deine Telefonnummer. Does it want to say that i did not go into that prison but i was in there since my parents conceived me? Or that i learnt from my parents to be caught in that prison? Or maybe i'd better let the reader literally wake up on his/her parents.

Machen wir uns nichts vor. Was kann etwas Geschriebenes heutzutage noch erreichen? Wer ohne millionenschwere Werbestrategien neue Ideen in die Welt hinausschicken will, erreicht sein Ziel wohl mit gleicher Wahrscheinlichkeit wie ein Papierflugzeug in einem Wirbelsturm.

Aber versuchen kann man's ja.

Die meisten Leute, die für diese Textsammlung verantwortlich sind, sind sich einig, daß die Welt zu einem faulen Ort geworden ist. Wir sind uns einig, dass etwas getan werden muss.
Was alles andere angeht, sind wir aber überhaupt nicht einig.
Wir sind uns nicht einig, wie es so weit kommen konnte, und wir sind uns genauso wenig einig, wohin das ganze führen wird.
Je fähiger die Leute sind, für sich selber zu denken, desto schwieriger wird es für andere, sie herum zu kommandieren. Wer für sich selber denkt, kann auch mal einen Blick hinter die Illusionen erhaschen, welche unsere Zivilisation an den Rand des Abgrunds gebracht zu haben scheinen. Vielleicht kann man sogar etwas dagegen tun.
Wir haben festgestellt, dass es zum Wohle Aller wäre, wenn mehr kreative und kritische Denker unsere Lage beobachteten und ihre Beobachtungen mit Anderen teilten.
Wohin uns das führen würde, wissen wir aber auch nicht.
Doch langsam aber sicher scheint jede Veränderung positiv zu sein.
Die Geschichte des ganzen bekannten Universums, sowie eine lange Ära philosophischer und wissenschaftlicher Erkenntnisse sprechen im Chor zu dir: Denke kritisch!

I'm going to spend time translating some of the Black Iron Prison texts into german. I intend to keep the phrases quite near to the original, except where it sounds silly. (That's why i hate the german translation of the PD). So i will try to use appropriate german metaphores etc instead of the english ones.

As english is a school language to me, i keep stumbling upon phrases which i don't really understand. At this point i ask for your help. Some sentences will be left in english and marked red. Please explain those sentences to me.
