playground politics. god I thought i could re-discover this place. but same old garb as ever. if the big bully does not like someone the little kiddies have to hang on to that opinion.

think for yourself, for the love of whatever.

I think you misunderstand the meaning of the BIP; it's not "what society wants you to do", it's what YOU THINK SOCIETY WANTS YOU TO DO, and what YOU THINK you should do, and what YOU THINK the world is.  You can define it however you wish, though.... it's your prison.

That's also fine with me. Goes the same way  -  actually because your perception of a condition creates what you also see as "what people" want. even if you are just maybe making it up or the group you are in/society you are living in has simmilar perceptions in their minds - you you would say prisons.

It's like being obsessed with what the neighbors would say - even though they might not even notice you are alive. Or they have the exact same film running for themselves in their noddyheady and that's where the party starts. Vicious circle thingy.

I guess there is a point of liooking for an uptdate in discordianism, we are not all old hippies and also not all americans. This is a good point.
What gets me with this new line of thought along this PIB business is this impact of negativity in the whole thing. I might be getting things wrong, but assuming that me as someone who is of couse in one way or another part of a socienty that also programmes your whole self and behaviour is a one way of looking at reality. Of course my surroundings influnce me, of course I can gain a false sense fo freedom or creativity and still be trapped between the samem old hinges the other people are sitting in. On the other hand I can choose to use one pattern somewhere where another pattern entirely is required to be developed by each individual being. If this pattern-change is used and used you soften the oh so black iron walls. BIP in my eyes is what society wants you to do. Eat this for breakfast, but if you eat that breakfast thing for dinner you are weird. Silly and very mundane example, but good enough to sosrt of make my point. It is BIP that makers of popular media seem to claim they are "making things the masses want" whereas I rather guess that they make what they want the masses to want. Making new walls, remodelling them to their needs. If you see this, you can avoid the builders and be somewhere else compleatly in your head.

21st century discordianism also melts with other new spoof religions or whatever you  may call them. I have just as much embraced the FSM as a very handy gaget to make certain points. Philosophies or un-philosophies are all gagets you can use to guide your mind to where you want it to be. sometimes it can be easy, other times you have to really work stuff out. for yourself in the end. taling to people might give you new ideas or sprout a new path somewhere, but you are the one who walks it. Alone.

Self-responsibility. Not taking the self too seriously. Old hats but still important as ever, dear hippieheads. being able to see yourself from a "bird" point of view can help. Not just for boring old dark self chritisism to tear yourself apart but also to gain a new insight into situations, see new really amusing things about realitiy you missed out on due to just looking out from your perspective. Jump. bounce. go out and do things. communicate these things and bring them back to your pals online if you wish.

this fuels the modern globalized discordian mind. we are more globalized than we think we are. Look at the impact japanese pop-culture has made on us. look at places like 4chan, look at lots of avatars here. whereas europe used to love aping american pop culture suddenly japan and even indian bollywood stuff is really hip and cool. this also comes into discordian thought and expression without it ev en being noticed in the concious level at first. it just flows because it is natural for the zeitgeist of the momet.

look at what anonymous is doing. every month now people are meeding up to face "old fashioned word alert for roger - theehe" some form of graface incarnation also known as CO$. for me it may be labelled "greyface" because this label comes naturally to my mouldy mind but others m ay call this phenomena capitalist fashism of the mind or whatever you like to call those freaks. be my guest to name them anything but a real religion.
A whole new set of global memes are being adapted and created in all anon-related web forums and being dragged out into reality, changed and adapted there again and carried back into the virtual world.

This is where I see the future. The crossing between both worlds. Technology bein mroe available to link up to others from wherever you are. Flashmobs, spontainious raids, mindfucks or whatever rocks your boat.

Just go out there and enjoy what life has to gibe you. BIP can be easily recognized and transformed and broken out of without going through some crazed and depresses scenario I have read in the documens here. So gen X. And that is so long ago dears.  Patterns are patterns that can be changed, altered, jumped onto and made fun of and with. wiggle your way though to your own happiness. run into walls, get caught up and get out again. realize that reality is  more than meets the eye and use this.

now enough talk for tonight.

patterns, always patterns. Roger, get a life and get out of that chair, turn off that computer and live. I am sick at home - excuse for being a formum hoggin swine but otherwise I have better things to do - just felt like being a bit daft for refreshments. Flu makes your mind silly.
