If you take 'steampunk' super seriously, I think it might be time to take a deep breath and re-asses what really matters to you.

The people that seem to pull it off are at least a little aware of how silly and dorky it is and don't feel and is a glorious and noble institution that must be defended.

Though the outfit and the frantic defense of it is made me lol.  :lulz:

Scree, is that you in that pic?

Bwahaha, no. Its from the about.com article.

Speaking of scarves, I'm thinking of trying this idea: http://craftingforcheapskates.blogspot.com/2008/09/hooded-scarf.html All I need to do is wait for the heat to die down so I can go raid the local charity shop.

Cheers for the apron pattern Sanguine, I think I'll have a crack at it as soon as I finish my sock monkey.  :)

Ok, I'm pretty new to sewing, so I've been looking for something relatively easy to get me started. then I came upon this ... project:
http://diyfashion.about.com/od/diyaccessories/ss/SleeveGloves.htm

tl;dr: 1.Cut sleeves off a sweatshirt.

        2. Wear

But what to do with those seemingly useless leftover scraps (an entire sleeveless sweater)? FABULOUS EARRINGS:

QuoteBut apart from "oh, that's cute", I don't really see what's the big deal about? Or maybe I missed part of the clue by not watching more than half of that vid?

/b/ these days will make a meme out anything that's stupid and annoying enough.

Case in point: THE BEST

"these days"

Not like back in the day. None of you kids would understand.

Yunno, I think alot of the boxxy related rage on /b/ is at heart, sexually charged confusion. She's 'attractive', female, on a webcam but not showing us boobs or at least hinting at boobs. This far is beyond the understanding of your average basement creature. Post anything like what I described on /b/ and they'll rage hardcore.  :lulz:

I'm in the 'if it's intentional is actually kinda funny' school of thought. If I'm correct in that or not, all this anti-Boxxy rage is shoveling coal into the flaming, gaping maw of her ego.

BOXXY :argh!:

There was this show called 'Muddy Grubs' on Australian tv. I can't remember much except this squeeky voiced face on a grey background, and she'd talk to this blue dot who would draw around her until some synth music would start playing...and then some animated jackson pollock shit and maybe some stock footage of kids on tricycles, etc. I used to see the face on my bedroom wall D:

Also Gumby.

Discordian Recipes / Re: Delishus cake in 5 minutes!?!

I'm eating mine now and I followed the exact instructions in the op, with the exception of using plain flour and soy milk. It came out a tad rubbery and I was pretty surprised at the lack of sweetness, considering the assload of sugar in it.

I predict undercooking it with more sugar and the addition of chopped nuts will equal sex.
