Just finished reviewing this thread, and I'm shocked by all the controversy this called.
"11/12 men secretly hate women" does no more to encourage misogyny than "Every year 15 million children die of hunger" promotes starvation.

That said, fomenter's images struck me as a tad maudlin. I think the text can speak for itself.

I was the one who canceled Star Trek!

You did the right thing. Star Trek: Enterprise was an abomination. Yours was an act of mercy.

Don't most people lie to get laid anyhow?
I'd better tell that last girl I'm not really a time traveler.

Jesus would quit Christianity.

He'd also probably take a shit in the river because they didn't have advanced septic systems back then.

Why waste time meeting heroes? They aren't that much better than you - lots were just in the right place at the right time.

If I had a chance to meet any 5 people, I'd wanna meet 5 beautiful single girls.

Bring and Brag / Collage Cruft :(
July 21, 2010, 03:07:15 AM
Here are collage's I've made in my spare time. Some were made as album covers for CDs I mailed away. Others take the form of pseudo-tarot cards with complementary concepts written on each side. The cards accompany the CDs. A few were made for fun. I still have those. All are free to use under the terms of their creative commons licenses (found on each picture's page).

Now spit on them.

Eventually, your kids will grow up, and they will have to confront the reality that there are wackos out there who follow crazy belief systems. Sheltering them will only delay the inevitable. Tis better to let them confront these crazy ideas, and rest by their side to explain and put them into context. Granted, some kids are just too young to understand any complicated idea, but those kids should probably not be allowed on the internet.

Methinks this is satire though.

Revolutions are doomed to fail by their nature. It's a wonder any have worked at all.

As I see it, revolutionaries succeed by the strength of their commitment. The status quo may have more guns, but the revolutionaries are fighting for a cause they believe in, and will fight to the bitter end. This is their fatal flaw, because once they win, that same zealotry remains, and they begin targeting "counter-revolutionaries". They fought so hard to get in power that they'll do anything to stay in power, and they become the new dictators.

For this reason, I've come to reject revolutions. Of course, gradual reform is equally worthless. Perhaps there is something in a dual power strategy. Don't fight for a new world, but actually create the world you want to see, then outlive the enemy.

Consider everything I ever say or do released under a dual license

CC BY-SA
CC-BY-NC

Choose whichever license you like.

Now I actually have to write something worthwhile.

Ayn Rand produced gibberish, but surprisingly high quality gibberish.

Actually, her work seemed like badly written romance novels to me.

Agreed. It's like a bad sex story, complete with corny erotic dialog. Except right before they get down to business, some character pontificates a preachy overwrought philosophical monologue.

(There's actually a part in either Atlas Shrugged or The Fountainhead where a monologue about philosophy directly segues into a sex scene. I spent 20 minutes trying to find where it is, but I'm having trouble. If any one knows the scene I'm talking about, please post. It's hilarious. )

1. I respected your intellectual property, for I have not pirated any of your work.

So you admit that piracy is morally wrong.  Good job, kid!  You'll have an ethical standard in no time!

Don't just quote mine. Read my entire post.

QuoteOf course, you might argue I implied taking an artist's hard work without paying for it was fine because I told you I downloaded music. Like I explained to you, there are two types of music I download online.

1. Works by pro-piracy independent artists and copyleft music
2. Works by artists who are long dead.

Only the second is illegal, but I don't see it as theft, because the artists can no longer make money off it anyway. Just because something is the law doesn't make it right, and I'm sure all the recreational marijuana users, or anyone who has driven 5 miles over the speed limit will agree with me.
:)

Regardless, the war is over now.
