Or Kill Me / KILL ERIS
March 01, 2005, 09:45:40 PM
Bah.
BAH, I say!
Eris dying, you say?  Hah!  You fill me with giggles.
Just because things are grey right now means She's dying?
Hell, shes just got a little fever.  She'll be back in no time.
If Eris could truly be killed, it would have happened long ago.
You, know, it's probably not even that.  She's hiding.  Eris is playing Hide-and-Seek with us.  We're it.  It's our job to find her.  Big deal.
Remember... Goddess likes to fuck with us.

Or Kill Me / On Enlightenment and Death

You know, it didn't turn out as incoherent and nihilistic as I had expected.  I sort of cheered up right in the middle of writing it, and switched mindsets.  I'm in a rather coherent mood right now, though, so I'll have to get it to you later.

IOU- 1 incoherent .... thing...  :?:

GOOD CHARLOTTE IS NOT A PUNK BAND.
This is important.  They are pop.  Hardcore, whiney ass pop.
You want modern punk, you'll have some trouble finding it, but look to Anti-Flag or something.

Anti-Flag are a bunch of uneducated dipshits from the suburbs of Pittsburgh who steal all of their high-minded ideas from NPR and Mother Jones Magazine. However, they still PWN Good Charlotte, who have gotten one of their songs on the latest installment of "Now that's what I call Music!"

Shadows Fall is the shit.

Which is why I'll take metal to punk any day.

Or Kill Me / On Enlightenment and Death
March 01, 2005, 04:13:18 AM
Generally, I'm a pretty positive guy.  I do, on occasion, however, lapse into a short period of nihilism and loathing for humanity.  This, my friends, is one of those pleasent occasions, and I have always been one for a good aimless rant.  This will be a good deal more incoherent than my material generally would be, but fuck it.
(By the way, does this belong here, or in the Literate Chaotic?)

The world is dying.  This is inevitable.  All things become much clearer when acceptance of this small aspect of fate is achieved.  Everything is going to die.
Not just us humans, mind you, but existence itself has an end.

The mistake of most philosophy and religion is the assumption that this is negative.  Death is usually considered a bad thing, something that is to be avoided.  Judeo-Christians speak of life after death, along with many others.  Some speak of reincarnation, of a return to life after death.

My question today is;  does it matter?  Is it truly of any importance what happens to a person after his body fails?  Is the consideration of a 'soul' worth the time?

If I'm not particularly concerned with what will happen to me a few years from now, why should I be concerned about my death?  What happens will happen.  If there is a great metaphysical truth, then I will discover it in time.  If not, then... well...  yeah...

To me, at least, enlightenment is the ability to truthfuly say that if I were to die tommorow, I would be content.  I would be able to accept that my life is and was full.

Death is far to important to our society.  Religion, science, philosophy, is all centered around the concept of death.
This is why I follow the path of Eris.  In my eyes, the path of Eris is the path of Life.
Why focus on a complete unknowable, unanswerable question that detracts from all other things, when you can focus on the life that you so blatantly dance down the path of.

We have vibrancy, energy, power, and instead we drown ourselves in death.  Truly society is filled with fools, to not love the path that they could so easily walk.

Or perhaps I'm full of shit.

Wow, that kinda did a one-eighty at the end, didn't it?  That's the beauty of a rant.  Thoughts wander, and I shift from nihilistic and pissed to pretty well balanced out.  Damn straight.

Or Kill Me / An open letter to the EGFABT.

If you only dislike him when he's being hateful, why'd you go off?  There was no hate involved there that I detected.  Perhaps I'm missing something, but that response seemed to be as Trolly as he can sometimes be.
No particular offense meant, just spitting what I see.

Literate Chaotic / The Breath (or Blood) of Eris
February 24, 2005, 12:13:06 AM
When it comes down to it, I'm completely joking when I talk about that.  I recognize that enlightenment doesn't come from teh drugz (although they compliment eachother well.)
I
just get a kick out of ritualizing toking, and getting into Erisian philosophy with my unphilosophical and unErisian friends.
(We'll see how long the 'unErisian' thing lasts... Mwahahahaha!)

Literate Chaotic / The Breath (or Blood) of Eris
February 23, 2005, 03:59:54 AM
I have created a communion of sorts that I thought that I'd like to speak about.  The Breath, as I enjoy calling it, of Eris.  (If you prefer, Blood can be substituted to mean another type of imbibment; drunken, not breathed.)
That's right kiddies, I speak today of Marijuana.   This can easily, to me at least, be translated into a religious activity.  Especially in tribute to Our Lady of Discord.
As was spoken on some page or other in the PD, reality is as a Rorshach.  It is completely maleable, and changes according to the viewer.  It also changes from time to time to the same viewer.  Marijuana (or alchohal, if you prefer something slightly more legal and expensive,) temporarily alters the windows from which we see the Primal Chaos that is Eris.
It allows us to recognize, by example, that reality is not so very 'real' at all.  It changes the theoretical idea given to us, and shows us how to do it.
Note; I'm not saying this cannot be done without the use of drugs, or anything of that sort.  I'm simply saying that it can give us a kickstart.
Your thoughts?
