Aneristic Illusions / Re: H.R. 6054: Unmasking Antifa Act of 2018

Luckily, the bill is still in committee, with an estimated 20% chance of becoming law, as per Skopos.

The guy who wrote/sponsored this bill is Daniel Donovan Jr (R-NY).  He's up for re-election this year.  His opponent is Boyd Nelson.

The co-sponsors are:
Ted Budd (R-NC), also up for re-election against Kathy Manning.  Fun fact: Budd's campaign pulled a URL troll against her, buying www.kathymanningforcongress.com which doles out misinformation about her.

Paul Gosar (R-AZ).  Primaries are August 28.

Peter King (R-NY).  His opponent is Liuba Grechen Shirley, and there's a chance she'll beat him.

Anyway, for those who will be sharing this bill, it might be helpful to provide the above information so people can do more than just be gobsmacked and pissed off.

Nice. Thanks LMNO.

Skopos looks interesting. Is that something you have access to through work?

"To amend title 18, United States Code, to provide penalty enhancements for committing certain offenses while in disguise, and for other purposes."

Behold: Liberty University's The Trump Prophecy: The Movie

Quote
A collaboration between an independent Christian filmmaker and one of America’s largest evangelical universities is showcasing the growing prominence of a provocative belief about President Donald Trump ― that he was divinely appointed to lead the United States.

How do these guys miss the whole "The age of prophets is over?"  It's RIGHT THERE IN THE BOOK.

Is that in Revelation somewhere?

I'm not technically from the future, but my family moved there when I was, like,  eight.

Unfortunately, we wound up getting caught by a cyborg Barron Trump clone in 2101, and were deported back to 1997, and had our memories scrambled so we couldn't interfere in the timeline.

Must have been '96 I had some posh x-mas dinner at his house in CO.

Who's house? A cyborg Barron Trump clone's house?

Concentration camps weren't enough, so lets have Kangaroo courts to try legitimise the villainy

Well, yes.  It is not at all unreasonable to put a 3 year old in court without the presence of a parent, or even notifying the parents that the hearing is to take place.

Fun question:  If a child were to be found against, how do you deport an unaccompanied 3 year old, when you have lost track of who the kid is and who his family is?

You stick them back in a concentration camp, of course.  That's the beauty of the system, once they're in it, it's permanent legal limbo.

The rednecks will be bawling for us to put them to work in less than 6 months.  Probably less than 3 months.

I've already seen a meme complaining that we're spending X per month dollars on an immigrant, while people on Social Security are only getting Y dollars per month. The meme wasn't explicitly for or against immigrant detainment, but it wasn't exactly complaining about the private prison system, either.

Something, something... Immigrants. Something something... Social Security. It wasn't complex.

This came from, like, one of my favorite aunts, who is still working a few years after full retirement age, but we're not sure if it's because she needs the money, or if she is just avoiding her family. SAD!

I'm somewhat conflicted. On the one hand I feel like I should get out of this country while the getting's good, on the other hand I'm in a swing state and feel like the United States needs me (Plus I don't know where I'd go to; most places I don't speak the language, and I want to steer clear of the commonwealth of nations because they tend to have onerous censorship laws; like for the longest time The Driller Killer was banned in Britain because it was supposedly over the top, and that movie's boring as shit, and you still can't get any good movies or videogames in austrailia).

I'm not being run out, no matter what the consequences are.

The only answer anyone EVER needs to give for the question "Why don't you GEEUT AYYYOWT?" is "Why don't you make me"?

BTW, speaking of swing states, here is what needs to happen to have the best chance to fix this mess. We need a lot of democrats from non-swing states to move to the swing states and turn them blue. Alternately, we need a lot of democrats from a cross section of blue states to move to one or two of the low population red states and turn them blue

Californians tend to move other places.  If they'd do it a bit more strategically we could turn the country arouind.

Arouind?

Is that like a shade of Indigo, or...

For the last few presidents, we have been electing more and more the candidate that will piss of the other side.

Which presidents did you have in mind?

Probably started with Clinton or Bush 2, with Clinton being a fairly normal reaction to 12 years of Republican presidents, then Bush 2 was some god awful shit for 8 years and probably the first true Revenge President (in recent times) then Barack (Hussein!!!) Obama was backlash from Bush, and now with Trump it just seems to be more about trolling than governing.

Obama was a different type of beast altogether.

You don't think Because they'll hate him" was one of his major selling points?

I had a career counselor give me this test once. It was about as helpful as one of those fb tests that tell you what kind of pizza you are.

I had an employer ask me to take it.  I intentionally made my answers cancel each other out.  I took that damn test 3 times, and he finally gave up.

Dok,
Has no personality.

 :lulz:

I remember taking it for the first time when I was still a teenager. I think it came out INFP or something. I've taken it several times in the 20 something years since that first time, and the only letter that has always stayed the same is the I. I couldn't even tell you what any of the other letters even mean, but I know the 'I' means I don't like people. I didn't need a test for that.

In other news, I am a Hawaiian pizza with anchovies.
