Nah, this time I'm thinking kazoo and jaw harp.

I was just playing a harmonica and a jaw harp last night.  The fun bit is trying to teach someone else how to use the jaw harp, and watching them almost crack their teeth as they do it all wrong.

Just route sets of 60 pages to a few different printers in the lab.  That should get it done pretty quick.  Also, the font of the PDF is large, like I said.  It will lessen the print time to print two per page, and it still won't be too small to read.

Uhm, before printing it out, realize the PDF is 358 pages long, although the text is rather large, you still may use a lot of paper, unless you work at Kinko's.  In which case, print two, and get them bound, send one to me, I'll pay s/h.

Anyway, the book is a transcription of a series of conversations between a psychiatrist, and Howard Campbell, the close friend of a catatonic patient in the doctor's care.  The doctor wants to know his patient's history, and Howard goes on to explain his friend's interest in everything from Buckminster Fuller, to devolping what he calls a "healing meme."  This is not all, there are quite a few plot twists that make it even more worth reading.

Dead Leaves

A guy with a TV for a head, and a chick break out of some moon prison with the help of some dude with a gigantic drill for a penis.  Enough said.  For, or against anime, I'm not sure.

It's not anime, per se, but it still owns you.

Listen to the radio interview,
Part 1
Part 2

It's too funny.  They're talking with Ben Mack over the phone, asking him if he's really Howard Campbell, he denies it, then he goes "OH SHIT!!" and the connection cuts out.  Ten seconds later, the guys phone rings, and it's "Howard Campbell" except it's the same voice as Ben Mack.

I just finished reading session three.  Some of it is fairly interesting stuff, the rest of it makes me think the guy went catatonic because he got a few too many barstools broken over his head.  Also, I have yet to listen to the radio interviews, but it somehow saddens me that this was not as real as it was purported to be, with that crazy foreword and all.

Well said, Thurnez.  Although along with the stranglehold commercialism has on the majority of the world today comes the faux-counterculture shit they spew to try and tie up their loose ends(First it was 'What can we do to get the hippie's money?'  Then, 'What can we do to get the punk-rockers to empty their wallets?' And on and on.)  The point you make about imitating, being laughed at for fnording bills, etc is a valid one, but you fail to mention that it's the discordians who are laughing, because we know that these actions, which probably worked wonders in Hill and Thornley's day, are now just as much part of The MachineTM as varsity jackets were in those days.

This makes your initiation point a bit more concise.

Just some ideas.  For those that want to stray away from the norm of stickers and T-shirts in favor of innovation, there are a few things that come to mind.

I think this has been mentioned here before, but they have done some good stuff, and they tell you how to do it as well.

I know this has been mentioned here, in the random links thread I think.  The program they use is open source, and, barring the expensive projector and laptop, quite easy to put together.

Then there's plain old spraypaint.  Sure, it can be tired, and cliche, but that all depends on how you use it.  Although a lot of Banksy's stuff has become cliche(I know three people who have the girl hugging the bomb tattooed on them,) when it gets out there, I'm sure it makes people think.  I'm curious though, what's the veiw of Banksy in the U.K.?

I really like the idea.  It's only hippie bullshit if you explain it as such.  IMO, rather than explaining it, it would be best to use it in a pamphlet or article, or something.  To equate a physical object with a thought, metaphor, or idea.  That way it will seem like the idea is recurring in the person's head whenever they see an object.  I'm trying to think of an example, but I'm failing miserably.  Oh- ok.  If you're familiar with Dane Cook, he has a bit where he makes up a song to the tune of a car alarm going off, one of those annoying ones that go from ambulance wail to siren, to a series of screeches, etc.  And afterwards he says something like "GREAT!  Now, even if you thought that was the stupidest shit you've ever heard, next time you hear a car alarm go off, you're going to think 'Man, that Dane Cook is a silly bitch!' haha."

Kind of illustrates it, in a roundabout way.

Eh, it's simple, but maybe I have fonts you don't.  I say kill 'em with Class.

LetterHead- Who says it can' take up like 4 inches of the page?

Logo- if you can find the letters PFLD, congratulations, you can read the logo.

Although, wouldn't it be rather redundant to have seven stories that all describe the same concept, in a very similar way?  I don't have much to say personally, so mine would be a lot like a narrative with a little bit of point thrown in there, but probably deep enough that anyone who read it would go "Neat story." and never really think about it again.  Not even at 3am the next day.
