I thought that his mis-represenation of the truth during his hearing would count against him. Now it seems like they were testing for that as a qualification to play in the highest court... in my days, they would have given /him/ the polygraph, not her.

World population now at levels which cannot be contained within the limits of novelty's manifold. This results in novelty compression protocols that make several individuals share the same (identical) experience of novelty. This results in a whole new wave of identity politics that takes the manifold itself by surprise (in a good way)

Fine, I 'need' some new computers in order to watch/serve the show. So I look at my favorite friendly purveyor of stylishly modded unix boxes, uncle mac. To my horror, they soldered all user servicable parts to the 'logic' board of their portable devices. If history (mine) is any guide, this does not bode well for my use profile... Also, I use blender, which supposedly melts the clock on this 'optimized' configuration. Does anyone have any advice before I get fired for using boxes that are over a decade young?

[cost is not an issue, apparently, but I'm not guaranteed full upgrade for who knows how long]

Never again buy from that person.  I have tossed vendors involving millions of dollars per year over that sort of shit.  Then I make it known that I did.

okay, but the other guy runs his ship like a hoar-house. at least he used to. not that theres anything wrong with that, except when you cant even synch 44kHz audio reliably. that caused at least one person to sprain an ankle.

I was just thinking...How many people that lived in the Matrix would be happy if they got rescued by the heroes?

I mean, they'd be trading in a half-decent 21st century existence for a post-nuclear frozen wasteland.

I bet most of them would be really pissed off.

Wasn't that like, a major plot point in the first movie?  Like Cypher decided he didn't care if it was an illusion, he wanted back in, so he sabotaged the mission so Neo can get captured by Smith.

How the fuck do I remember all of that?

The first movie was reasonable. The other two were terrible.

But yes, you are correct. Cypher wanted back in because "ignorance is bliss", the real world was more terrifying to him.

I can't tell, but something about this current Justice confirmation hearing thingy makes for a very "red pill" moment.
Something about decortification (sp?) and the desert of the real.

A procedural detective series following a forensic investigation unit tasked with determining how certain crimes could have resulted from strange attractors, instead of being intentional, accidental, or purely random.

This is more or less how alt.slack ended up, only it also had cascading spambots.
Was that a usenet site?
I'll take this conversation 'there.' words too hot to handle.

Duh, right?

IT had just  never occured to me quite like that before.
The completion of never ending cosmic solitude occasioned by being the one. At least Jlong never mentioned IT, not directly of course.

anyone else tried these new laces?
how did it make you soul feel, you know, when the guest had to leave again?

You should check and be ready BEFORE crossing any intersection, not after. That would avoid this, and a 500$ fine. Capish?

Yes, but it also helps strategically placing spikes on each side of you about 23 meters away from you on each side before crossing, in case you forget to look.
It, speaks?!?
