Some large (double-digit) percentage of people who experience free fall outside of the ionosphere later have an intense revelatory experience. Commercial space tourism companies pop up and produce a steady stream of exceedingly wealthy cult leaders. Governments later begin using this to discredit people they don't like, sending them free tickets to space knowing that they are likely to come down acting entirely nuts (the way the CIA occasionally doped people with LSD to discredit them during the good old days of MK-ULTRA). Some of the cult leaders get their act together enough to organize and oppose space travel.

I kind of love that idea.

A couple days in the life of a guy whose job it is to clean up suicides as quickly as possible, in a world where it's considered standard to take ridiculous amounts of anti-depressants. I imagine he'd not be taking them, just to create a character the reader can put themselves in the shoes of. I like to think it'd be a dark comedy/ satire about how people tend to look at life through a social lens, instead of accepting life as it is.

Not sure if everyone will find this as relevant as I do, but The Kominas (islamic punk band) have a pretty beautifully sarcastic song called Sharia Law in the USA that might be worth checking out.

Yeesh. People are crazy. I love how the seminar on islam and terrorism is being held at a church. Totally no way that might be biased. That's like democrats holding a seminar on conservative ideaology and latent homosexuality.

INORITE! It's like they're trying to inflame people.

Hahahaha. No way. That couldn't be happening.

Wat.

No worries.  In Nigel's absence, I can handle the translation:

Man, I learn somethin' new every day. Very interesting.
The idea that cynicism is the kind approach is fairly hilarious (fair-larious?). Also, potentially accurate (pot-accuate?)

QuoteI posted in ebonics.  And Whitey's On The Moon.

wha-hahaha? That wasn't really intended to be ebonics, but I can dig it anyways.

Could be worse.  They could be Calvinists.

They believe in Hobbs?

Baptists don't believe people swear?

They also don't believe in genitals or states above the mason-dixon line.

Hahaha. This sounds hilariously familiar. My family was southern baptist, but we were told to watch out for methodists because they believe in "swearing." People are funny...

Howdy, folks. First time poster, here. I got an idea for flyers I want to put on windsheilds, or potentially in envelops with "To You (yes, you)" written on them. On words like "failed" "Weirder" and "hallucinations" I changed the font to represent the conecept, but it might not show up. Any ideas to better it?
--------------------
Don't worry!

Six years ago you were bitten by the Arachnid Decouvrez, a spider whose poison can cause powerful, long-lasting hallucinations.
But...you knew something seemed off, right? Luckily, we've engineered a cure! Any minute now you should wake up, and start your life. It might be a few hours, at most.
Until then, please resume your current existence as closely as possible to how you have been. Watch American Idol™, listen to your iPod™, and eat your Mcdonalds™. Any moment now, real life should kick in and you can live in the world as it really is. No crime, no hate, no immorality, no lying politicians, no wars, no crummy job. Every spouse is a supermodel and every friend is your best friend. Any second now...
One quick thing, though. Things might get a lot weirder before they get better. Like receiving strange notes, being accosted by cabbages, or being introduced to modern day Discordians. If any two of these things happen, the serum may have failed, and you could be forced to try and change your current life for the better.
