Bring and Brag / Re: P3nT's Shoops

That's a great mix of cute and creepy - like a mashup of gizmo and sloth

It occurs to me that most serious gun collectors I know want a civil breakdown.  Probably to "simplify" things.  Which is in fact what would happen.

For example, if the logistics streams (food and gasoline) are interrupted by just 18 hours, things get REALLY simple.  By which I mean, "civilization is gone, there is no getting it going again, 295,000,000 people die within 3 years, and the remaining 30,000,000 live like rats.  And that's the last hot shower anyone gets for a thousand years.  We will of course drag Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean Islands, and Guatemala down with us, because 295 million people aren't going to sit still and starve.

Some people think that would be an improvement - or even a world worth surviving in - because our culture is just that sick.  They are wrong, of course.  Things can get worse than this.  Things can ALWAYS get worse than this.  Sweating the electric bill is one thing, death from starvation is another thing entirely.

I was just reflecting on how a lot of gun fetishists I know have this kink where they verbally fantasize about what would happen if somebody broke into their house.

They all tell the same little narrative about how they don't LIKE violence, but if somebody came in to steal stuff or hurt people, that person would be getting a hot lead bukkake, followed by a hot lead enema, followed by a hot lead golden shower. And I can't help but notice that as they described this, their breath got quicker, their eyes dialated, their voice went up an octave... it's the exact cadence of someone having phone sex.

And I think it's a similar thing to what you're describing--that the 2A crowd can't wait for the moment when the fetish is finally justified.

RIP library. So, I put my books in storage and since my new place doesn't have the shelf space, I left them there.

And then, the factory next to the warehouse burned down. And burned down the warehouse along with it. And my library.

I'm currently in the process of claiming my insurance based on my initial booking forms. But still, bleh.

OOF,  that's a DAMN SHAME -- If my books failed a saving throw, I'd be devastated. Good luck recouping losses.

It's a gonzo style book about his encounters with various cabals. Brenton is in it, but most of the text is the people he's talking to. And the places where he actually does talk about Loveshade are super embarassing for Loveshade, the book is not a fan of him. I thought it was very interesting to read a bunch of boots-on-the-ground accounts of what other in-person practicing Discordians are like. There isn't a lot of coherent information out there about how Discordianism is actually practiced. I thought it was a good read. And I'm not just saying that because my cabal's in the New York section.

anyway, that's my opinion

Itís like heís trying to make it worse! And make less sense! Iím baffled, what the fuck could possess anyone to say this??? This doesnít make any sense at all!

It's Rudy.  He can arrange a plea on your traffic ticket and get it reduced to second-degree murder.

RPG Ghetto / Re: Official D&D 5E Announcement

So, I walked into Barnes & Nobel bookstore last weekend, and the gaming section contained a bunch of paperbacks for Pathfinder 1E, a single book for Pathfinder 2E, and NO D&D at all.  Not one book, in any edition. Prior to 5th, there was a metric shit ton of material, then 5th started out okay, but strangled themselves with gigantic hardcover adventures.

I am thinking the original franchise should be declared dead.  Which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Dead? it's still doing better than it ever has.

Barnes and Nobel is hit or miss on carrying RPG stuff, it seems kinda regional I think.

Many of the 8CM writings can lead to deep introspection and self analysis. This creates lots of material which needs to be processed.

Anybody remember the "Discordian meme generator" I think it was called. It was a page that just spit out random quips. "A conclusion is just where you stopped thinking," etc.

I'm specifically looking for the thing about "if you believe there are elves living in the clouds, every time it rains it gets proven" only...worded well.

Anybody have a memory of that?

you're looking for this

edit: whoops didn't see someone already answered!

oh yeah, it's the guy that free-associated every conversation back to Jews Rule The World and then called us tools when nobody wanted to have repeated longform discussions about it

I did enjoy talking with him before he fell into the pit of Calling Everybody Sheeple and Everybody Who Disagrees With Me Is an Imperialist Tool.

Lately I've been feeling very robotic.

I get these intuitive flashes of how things will unfold according to script. I reach for the remote control and I know the next 2 hours of my life are predetermined. Every behavior, every sentence, flows from a fixed formation. I'm trapped in this meat body that operates by meat rules. I can't imagine an action that takes me outside of the script, because my imagination is part of the Machine too.

My intuition pulls me towards doing something NEW with the body. Go somewhere new, develop a new skill.. change the inputs, and the outputs change too.  "Go the fuck outside."
