Looking for a translated copy of Foundations of Geopolitics: The Geopolitical Future of Russia by Alexander Dugin.  Am willing to pay for it, within reason.  I will also award whoever successfully finds me the book with a copy of James Burnham's The Machiavellians.

So far I've only managed to find a translated summary of the chapters: http://arctogaia.com/public/geopeng.htm

EDIT: No luck. You'd think that something like this would have a decent English translation somewhere, considering how influential it seems to be.

Triple Zero

I just spent an hour using my searchlores google-fu to find "some sort of discussion list amongst expert librarians where they answer very difficult questions for eachother that was mentioned on the ~Seekers~board once, many years ago" (this is about all I remembered about it).

And I found it (not your book, the discussion list). Except it's no longer online:

http://web.archive.org/web/20060207145535/domin.dom.edu/depts/gslis/stumpers/  :(

fortunately, nomen est omen, as I now at least knew the name of the thing I was looking for, it only took a couple of queries to find this comment on metafilter mentioning an inofficial project that continues the tradition, Project Wombat.

http://project-wombat.org/

The Stumpers List was originally a mailing-list for where librarians could ask eachother questions that "stumped" them, questions they could not answer, even given the amount of resources a professional librarian has at their disposal. The list is also open for non-librarians, and thus filled with all sorts of experts, specialists and interested people.

Apparently Project Wombat is a continuation in the tradition of the Stumpers List, and consists of three separate mailinglists that seem to differ in their amounts of moderation (Open, Classic and Fully Moderated).

Read the posting guidelines and the FAQ, but the basic gist of it seems to be that you can ask them questions, and they expect nothing in return for it: "Just because you can't answer any questions today doesn't mean that you won't be able to answer one tomorrow", which might actually be a good point, given you have some pretty specialist knowledge on IR and related topics, and people seeking specialist info often have some valuable knowledge themselves.

I don't know if this will help you find the book, I have never used these lists, but it might be worth a try, and either way, it's a good thing to bookmark, if you ever need to find something really, really obscure :)

Thanks for looking guys, and thanks for the link Trip.  Given I have a library which is larger than the one we have in town on my external HD, it is entirely likely I'd be of some assistance when it came to certain fields of knowledge, locating books dealing with certain topics etc so I'll definitely check it out.
