Do you make your own armor, or do you know a guy?

Suu

I'm going to have to know a guy really soon.

It's got a 150-lb string.

What should I do with it?

You should come camping with myself, ECHGF, and some friends once the weather is reliable enough. We can trade things to shoot, and shoot at things with those things. I know some good spots out in the desert, and some even better spots up in the Cascades.

Some yahoo yelled at me, saying 'GIVE ME LIBERTY OR GIVE ME DEATH', and I thought, "I'm feeling generous today.  Why not BOTH?"

OK, I need to put heads together with Enzo and Ouzel on this.
Lorica segmentata is just bends in flat stock, so we just need a shear and an English wheel.  (An English wheel could ALSO have use doing aluminum parts, or straightening blades.)

I've been looking for a place to put one, and it'd make sense to have it at a more spacious area than the monastery...

Anyone ever think about how Richter inhabits the same reality as you and just scream and scream and scream, but in a good way?   :lulz:

...You were looking for a excuse to do Roman armor, weren't you?

I'm looking for an excuses to:

1: Make armor.  Hell, play with metal in general.
2: Tool porn
3: Get more possibilities as far as working / fabricating metal into the the hands of myself and our cronies.

Awesome.

I didn't know we had a desert.

East Coast Hustle

what? for real? dude, over half of the state is a desert, as is over half of WA. the two states really should have been divided by the Cascades, not the Columbia. I spent alot of time when I was younger exploring the area around the Tri-Cities, mostly on the WA side of the river but also in OR between Umatilla and Pendleton. There's some cool spots out there, and some of them haven't been ruined yet since you can't get there without a pretty sturdy 4x4.

Sounds incredible.  I've only been camping as far as the cascades, which was a long time ago.

I have seen few sights as beautiful as sitting on top of Rattlesnake Ridge just before dawn on a clear night. If it's clear enough, you can see the lights of Spokane in the distance followed by an incredible palette of color as the sun rises over the desert. Then, when it's light enough to see the "road" you drove up on, you can make a speed-run down through the boulderfields, over the washboard dirt track, and down into Weber Canyon. Follow it all up with a breakfast of Rainier Beer and the awesome breakfast burritos from the Conoco in Benton City and an afternoon of rattlesnake hunting out at Horn Rapids, and you've got a pretty good weekend in the making.

Sweet. This gives me incentive to get my 4x4 fixed before I have to leave for the summer.
