News:

Don't get me wrong, I greatly appreciate the fact that you're at least putting effort into sincerely arguing your points. It's an argument I've enjoyed having. It's just that your points are wrong and your reasons for thinking they're right are stupid.

Hawk, wiping tears away.

edit to add Jackie Evancho, She is 11 years old.

Freeky

I was discussing this kid with my roommates a few days ago. Yeah, she's got a voice on her, I'll agree, but sticking her on a stage in Vegas is probably not the best thing for her, not to mention she has no stage presence at all. I predict she'll be burnt out by age 25 or go nuts from being a kid star.

I think Poppycock is better, anyway.

WhoIsIOZ was talking about how her voice will peak way early, much earlier than most opera singers, unless she gets a real voice instructor immediately.

Lies

She's absolutely unreal, I have to say.
- So the New World Order does not actually exist?
- Oh it exists, and how!
Ask the slaves whose labour built the White House;
Ask the slaves of today tied down to sweatshops and brothels to escape hunger;
Ask most women, second class citizens, in a pervasive rape culture;
Ask the non-human creatures who inhabit the planet:
whales, bears, frogs, tuna, bees, slaughtered farm animals;
Ask the natives of the Americas and Australia on whose land
you live today, on whose graves your factories, farms and neighbourhoods stand;
ask any of them this, ask them if the New World Order is true;
they'll tell you plainly: the New World Order... is you!

A Villager

I hope that she doesn't have psychotic stage-parents.

What is?   :?

Well, Poppycock is pretty good, but I like Jackie better. I mean, at 11 years old I wasn't doing anything like that.

And even if the child has a 10 or 15 year career, well, damned if I won't say "Job well done!"

Jasper

That Evancho kid is kind of incredible, but I found the Fighting Gravity act more entertaining.  It was almost more stage magic than the stage magic act.

They are pretty good, but my soft spot is damn good music, opera included.

I'm just wondering if that sort of singing at that age is normally possible, even with maximum training.

Hell no.

Jasper

I didn't think so.

Next inquiry:  Is she a cyborg of some kind?
