Eris is not the kind of Goddess you pray to by the way.
Solve your problems yourself.

Don’t call Eris a mother: 
she has eyes on the back of her head,
better not catch her in a snit.

So, "mystical female" seems to be a synonym for "Tao", right? I suppose it would be proper to bring Eris into this. Maybe something like...

I kind of like certain parts of the original. We've ascribed a few human traits to eris which are absent elsewhere in the CTC... I'm going to try a cut-up of both versions:

My only qualm is the "she's just not that into you", but only because of the crappy Jen Aniston movie/awful self-help book.

Oh good call. I had forgotten that it's a cultural reference.

How about "she's just busy washing her hair or something."

or "she's too busy to answer the phone."

or something ot that effect. She hears your prayers, she just doesn't think it's worth her time to help you out. Unless it's funny.
