True, there is still a fair bit, in the right places.  But America seems to have alot more of it.  Absolute wilderness, if you will.  Same with South America, once you get really out in the sticks.

Ok, I'll try to do both sides here...

First Angle:  Consider the US Gvt as a corporation... Let's say Pepsi.  All your life, you have been raise drinking Pepsi.   You spend all your money buying Pepsi products.  You even buy stock in the company.

Then one day, you figure out that Pepsi products are not good for your health, the environment, and the board of directors are engaged in nafarious business practices.  What do you do?

Easy-- you sell your stock, and you refuse to buy Pepsi anymore.  That, in essence, is what a person does when they Ex-patriate.  They no longer pay taxes, they no longer support the Gvt, and they leave.


Second Angle: The US Gvt has its slimy tentacles in every corner of the globe.  There is no escaping.  Not to mention, Gvt in general will tend to fuck over the individual.  There's nowhere to go to get away from it.  What do you do?

For all it's downsides, the US Gvt has a fairly good system for enacting change.  Sure, it's not that fast, and it's corrupt as hell, but you have a slightly better chance of getting things done that in, say, Ecuador.  So stay, and make all the changes you can.


How's that?

Third Angle: Where do 'you' want to be? Do you want to have a house and some creature comforts. You know about some of the bullshit that is going on behind the scenes and you steer your path to not buying Pepsi and drinking something else. You still gotta drink right? There's an option to buy a purifier and just go live in the mountains. Do 'you' want to go that far? I earn as much as I need to earn to live the lifestyle I want. I don't get obsessed with buying all the con sells but I wanna drink without the purifier and I want to sit on a comfyish seat when I'm typing this shit into a 2 grand PC which I built cos I like playing PC games.

You take on whatever you don't like around you through your choice of action, hide from it or fight it, There is a general tone of superiority, a snobbishness maybe, that seems to come from those who fiercely fight their chosen cause who seem to see themselves as 'above' the 'quite happy with what they're about' brigade. Some people may become enlightened and see some 'big picture' or other and just carry on doing what they were doing regardless. I've 'sold out' in a lot of peoples eyes, including my own, much younger, ones which I can still glance out of sometimes if I squint just right. I don't give a shit. Ima play some MedII now.

You guys have to understand that I attacked roger (I guess rather harshly), becuase he answered my question by flaming me. I like what LMNO said about ex-patriotism, but I didn't get this impression from Roger's other Sermons.

It's like he said, "Alright guys, I've shown you all the problems and I've taught you that we must fix them by any means nessesary. It's up to us, the people of America, to change our society, no one else can help. Now, while you get started, I, uh, have to go outside and check on somthing, I'll, um, yea..."


If he said "I give up, there's no hope for America" from the beginning, then I may even support him, but he didn't. He was all for change and revolution, but his bark was ALOT louder then his bite and he ended up doing the opposite of what he was preaching.

Oh, and he also rebuttled with some dumbass claim that I was an alt of some medling kid who was out to get him. He's done this twice to me now. The first I called him a "cynical asshole" and he accused me of being Trollax. Both times I confronted him he said I was a malicious alt, wtf kind of flaming is that.

I agree with ECHs 2nd and 3rd point on the last page (the 1st point about being an alt or not, i can't know). And even though mr Cowass did it in a pretty shitty way (well, you did, mr Cowass), he did also raise some questions i was wondering about myself when reading that sermon. Especially on the "running away" versus "escaping" versus "leaving it all behind" versus "jailbreak" versus "getting it" versus "not getting it" areas.
On the one hand, i say, wow it really takes some guts to just pack up and leave (though america being the way it is these days probably helps). On the other hand i think, but what are you going to pay your bills with now? (just interested). On yet another hand i wonder if i'll ever get to pack up and leave myself, and then i wonder if that wouldn't just be escapism. And then i wonder if that would be a bad thing or not.

well, Roger, you gotta do what you want to do, and no matter the reasons or the motives, i wish you best of luck. cause either way, it doesn't sound like a half bad plan.

Can someone please explain to me how going to Mexico to visit the inlaws before heading to NEW MEXICO and then POINTS NORTH is considered "running away from America"?

1.  Your "question" was nothing more than a slam, shitheels.  It was not a request for information, it was a gratuitous attack.
