TESTEMONAIL:  Right and Discordianism allows room for personal interpretation. You have your theories and I have mine. Unlike Christianity, Discordia allows room for ideas and opinions, and mine is well-informed and based on ancient philosophy and theology, so, my neo-Discordian friends, open your minds to my interpretation and I will open my mind to yours. That's fair enough, right? Just claiming to be discordian should mean that your mind is open and willing to learn and share ideas. You guys are fucking bashing me and your laughing at my theologies and my friends know what's up and are laughing at you and honestly this is my last shot at putting a label on my belief structure and your making me lose all hope of ever finding a ideological group I can relate to because you don't even know what the fuck I'm talking about and everything I have said is based on the founding principals of real Discordianism. Expand your mind.

It's just that there's nothing sadder than a fossil trying to stay relevant.  Seeing as how the board has changed into a graphic arts/23 skiddoo thing, I will avoid becoming some pathetic Stang-esque relic, and just stop spouting for people whose tastes have changed (or a newer crowd, for that matter).

What?
Screw the _______, do what you are good at fur kristsake. Ever submit your rants as opinion pieces to the local papers?

I think the swingback is on its way with fun, at least in the UK.  After at least thirty years of forcefed family crap, keeping the children safe from anything which may let them have a good time (like going outside without a spacesuit on) and sanitized public entertainment, I think something abit dangerous is exactly what people are looking for.

I remember when I was a kid, breaking into huge estates where nobles hunted pheasants, trespassing in private woods and getting hopelessly lost at least every other weekend.  Of course, that my parents don't give a shit about me and my welfare probably helped, but it was fun, mostly because of that thrill of danger.  Most people have forgotten what adrenaline feels like, I think.

Mangrove

I think they know what adrenaline is like, they just tend to waste it on things that don't require it.

Thrilling adventure? Adrenalize!

Watching the news? No.

I dunno.  They all treated that Dangerous Book for Boys like it was some wonder.  Hell, I did most of the shit in that book before I was 10.  Still, its a sign the pendulum is swinging the other way, I hope.
