TESTEMONAIL:  Right and Discordianism allows room for personal interpretation. You have your theories and I have mine. Unlike Christianity, Discordia allows room for ideas and opinions, and mine is well-informed and based on ancient philosophy and theology, so, my neo-Discordian friends, open your minds to my interpretation and I will open my mind to yours. That's fair enough, right? Just claiming to be discordian should mean that your mind is open and willing to learn and share ideas. You guys are fucking bashing me and your laughing at my theologies and my friends know what's up and are laughing at you and honestly this is my last shot at putting a label on my belief structure and your making me lose all hope of ever finding a ideological group I can relate to because you don't even know what the fuck I'm talking about and everything I have said is based on the founding principals of real Discordianism. Expand your mind.

To be fair, it's not LARP that's the problem.

It's 90% of the people that LARP that are the problem.

TROOF, our group has often been called elitist because we only let vetted people play... and the usual ST's put up with very little bullshit before they eject people from the game.

In Cthulhu games I've actually scared the crap out of people... its like an interactive Haunted House sort of thing.

My wife and I play Amish.

Me: "Honey, ready to churn the butter?"
Wife:  "Have you raised the barn?"

It's a hoot, I tell you!

I was on a Greyhound with some Amish people once.

Well see, that's their treble right there.  Their lucky they didn't fall off a clef.

I tried LARPing once.  OWBN or something.

The trouble was that everyone was role-playing elitist snobs.  Also much smoking (I thought vampires didn't breath... ?) so they were role-playing smelly elitist snobs.

PS: A veritable Bach-anal of puns.
Q: How regularly do you hire 8th graders?
A: We have hired a number of FORMER 8th graders.

Yeah, OWBN is sort of the mainstream "we'll accept anyone" kind of LARP that I dislike in the extreme. Not everyone can act, or even role play. *gag*

Now, my Cthulhu stories... well, anyone can scream in sanity draining horror as a 12' tall monster lumbers toward them swinging 10' long tentacles... and their flashlight goes dead.

Hehehe, I love handing players rigged flashlights.

You have to burn a blood for it lolololololol.   Also I seem to remember many LARPers talking about burning a blood point so their character (note: not them) could have sex.

(I did WoD [Vampire, etc] LARP when I was in high school, but I was young and stupid then.  Don't hold it against me. )
