It shouldn't fucking matter at all,  Christ, is this place turning into PDTMZ?

If it shouldn't matter then why are you butthurt about it when it doesn't even concern you?

Because as I said, despite many heated drug arguments, I like Rat and I think it is fairly rude to question his relationship like that.  And I know no one else is going to say anything about it.

Well yeah. I wasnt going to say anything about it because i have no opinion on the matter and i figure rat could defend the validity of his own relationship better than any of us can. I like rat too but its his relationship and nigels beef. Im not rat or nigel or purpleeris.

I like Rat just fine, even though sometimes he has his head up his ass.

I just dislike his girlfriend and think he's being taken for a ride, and I know no one else is going to say anything about it.

I'll admit that I had the same thought. And I like Rat alot in spite of having some consistent and fairly fundamental philosophical differences with him (pointed out for the benefit of anyone ITT who thinks that having those differences is, in and of itself, reason enough for me to not like someone). I just figure the chances of him listening to one of us about something like this are damn near zero and if it IS like that he's gonna have to learn the hard way. But in spite of my dislike for purple eris, I also hope it's NOT like that and that it all ends in happy puppies and unicorn farts for the both of them.

honestly, her passive-aggressive hippie snob schtick doesn't even piss me off so much as make me sad that yet another ostensibly grown-ass adult hasn't mentally or emotionally graduated from high school yet.

See, I guess I like her because she seems earnest in her wackiness.  She doesn't appear to be doing the pineal shit because she thinks it will help her fit in.  She's just doing her thing.  And she's not plastering it all over the place.

AKK, Daruko, Lamenite, MOC, they spread their fail all over the fucking place, and they were trying to be disruptive.  I just don't get that vibe from her.

I agree... in my opinion, she's not doing it to try to fit in. She's doing it to stand out. As far as being earnest... no. It's a youthful contrivance. I would place bets on her being barely over 20, if that, and into making sure everyone who possibly could be is informed of how interesting and different she is. She's an online model, and leverages that to add to her "interesting quotient" as often as possible because she thinks it makes her edgy. She's young enough to think that being a female who expresses her sexuality is unusual, and because she's cute, guys (especially older guys who portray themselves as "somebody", such as Uncle BadTouch) respond to her as if she's a fascinating novelty, which reinforces her belief that being an overtly sexual female is different. She's young enough to idolize trip culture, and seems to think that being a dedicated pothead is something worth talking about. She's probably read a lot of quintessential open-your-head authors from the 60's, which is the style she's seeking to emulate with her writing.

She's flaunting what she THINKS makes her interesting.

I also think she has potential for actually *being* interesting, if she can drop the "I'm posting like Manley Hubbell" pretense. She's actually intelligent and probably has interesting contributions to make besides being adorable and stoned, if she chose to stop hiding behind the affectation.

OMG

I think this was my first mention of Hirley0 on this board, and nobody knew what I was talking about yet! Now you all know. <3

:lulz: I got bored so I started reading the thread over again. Got up to page 52. Man, I'd forgotten about the racism part and the calling people "fags" part. But come to think of it, it does make that whole Armenian genocide denial thing fit a bit better into the bigger picture.

I also, thinking back, had not realized that it took OVER A YEAR for me to actually lose my patience for the nasty little creature. Considering that I was far, FAR less patient in 2008 than I am now, that's actually pretty impressive.

If her personality IRL really is exactly what she's displayed here, all I really have to say is ugh.

Truth be told i cant even remember what the drama was about. Thread made my head hurt. But we all know how i feel about the word fag and racist comments. :lulz:

 :lulz:

She's not my girlfriend, she's my wife (one year anniversary in 2 weeks) . We're not moving to America, my current job has me travelling all over Europe (though we'll be moving to the UK in a month or so). Twid, I was only in CT for awhile to get training for my new job.

As for her "hard on" for Roger and others, she had been heavily influenced by his writings and was a bit shocked/surprised to find Roger, Cram, Hoopla, Ratatosk, RWHN etc all hanging out here. She told me that she was definitely in a bit of Hero worship over Roger as she loved his stuff the most (she isn't nearly the happy, hippy Discordian that I am). Before PD, she had met only one Discordian, a swiss-german speaking guy in Bern, Switzerland. All of her other 'Discordian' experience had been reading stuff all of us had written. So when she found us, she assumed she found the few people in the world that were 'better than' the horrible people that she saw in the world around her (I think that idealized vision of Discordianism was probably her biggest 'fluffy bunny' concept).

We've had a lot of conversations about her appearance/experience here at PD and it took awhile for me to get to know her well enough to see what had happened. She was under the false assumption that Discordians were somehow special and well above infighting. She found this place and saw us, with our epic battles and thought that she would join in. Like I said, she has a pretty sarcastic side which works well in spoken English (It took me awhile to get used to it), but fails pretty badly when she tries to communicate via text.

I was also surprised to learn that her view on drugs doesn't come from reading old hippies, but rather from some pretty intense personal experiences. While living in Eurpoe, her boyfriend had gotten her started with speed, telling her that it was a perfectly safe drug. One addiction later, when panic attacks and other psych issues became obvious indicators that the guy was full of shit... she ended up treating herself with pot, lsd and her newfound Discordianism to get rid of the addiction and the side effects. In her mind, they saved her life.

When we first got together, I was bit suspicious about her motives. Now, not so much. I suppose she may be a very good actress and is biding her time to dump me for a rich old guy... given the past year and what I know of her previous lives though, it seems pretty unlikely to me (but ya know.... Maybe  ). I know some of the guys from her past, if she was looking for a sugar daddy,  she had a lot better options than me (European or American). Hell, when we got married and I moved here permanently, I gave up my old job and she was taking care of me. Hell, even when I first visited her, she wouldn't let me pay for dates, gifts or anything else. She is pretty fiercely independent when it comes to taking care of herself.

Even if she were to dump me, I wouldn't consider this a bad decision. I've had a fantastic time for the past year and change. Lots of fun with a beautiful woman that I love... and was inspired to break out of the stable, boring life I was in. I've gotten to wander around ancient Greece. I wake up in the morning, walk out of my bedroom door to some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. Majestic mountains, on the shores of the Aegean sea... the sunrise over the mountaintops and the moon reflecting off of the sea. Life for the past year has been a series of beautiful paintings.

On top of that, the decisions I've made over the past year landed me an awesome job with company paid trips all over Europe, the Middle East and Asia. I've gotten to see Paris, Dublin, Munich, Izmir, Istanbul, Ankara. I'll soon be living in London, I have a trip in a few weeks to Zurich. In a few months the company is flying us to Thailand, complete with a paid vacation after the project.

I've partied on top of a mountain overlooking ancient Smyrna, while tripping and dancing to Goa with musicians from Iran, Israel, Turkey and bits of Europe.

I hope, Eris willing, that we spend the rest of our lives together. Even if we don't though, I will never regret the decisions I've made. I went from living a normal life to living in a crazy fantasy (international hacker for hire with a hot European model wife... its like the ending of Count Zero).

Now, if you'll excuse me, its time for breakfast. Hot, fresh, homemade apple pie, some of the most amazing Aegean cheeses, the best olives in the world, wonderful tea, a little turkish coffee and the most beautiful woman I've ever met.

Hail Eris, All Hail Discordia!

Thanks, ECH.  Life is a wild circus, might as well enjoy it before we get tired and have to go home.
