In the end, we ARE all still monkeys here, or trees to use your metaphor.  I'm not sure we are especially special compared to other people.  We all do seem to intersect with a common framework to view the world around us, but we still make stupid human mistakes.  I think what we've attempted to do here is talk about at least how to be aware of our human trappings and how we can at least be a little more proactive, or perhaps, quicker and more thoughtful when we are reactive.  

I never got the sense you were a racist.  Sure, your posts are a little "odd", but it seemed out of your character, from my viewpoint, to have racist beliefs.  I hope we can all take a breath and at least have an understanding of where you are coming from and where we are coming from.  There is no one universal "right way" of doing discordia.  (Well she might have a preferred position)  But, one thing that certainly doesn't work is when we aren't getting along and being civil with one another.  

So, I can only speak for myself, but I'm glad to have read what you wrote and hope you do stay with us here.  We may not all "get" you, but that should not be reason alone for you to be unwelcome.

This board is a weird place.

Surprisingly often, people come here already familliar with Eris. The Eris which laughs and plays pranks and is not at all mean spirited.

And people project their vision of Eris onto the board, and they end up being confused when this board doesn't follow their expectations.

I've been talking to PED on Facebook for the last week or so, and I can say she is a funny and charming person... Far be it for me to speak for someone, but I can say what my impression of a situation is, and here is my impression... PED came in, made a jokey confrontational OP, in the way you might call your brother or sister an off-color name.  I think she was assuming automatic familiarity because "we're all discordians"... people didn't take it overly well, myself included, and it all went downhill.  Fast.

I am actually going to try to address a couple of your questions as if they are the result of legitimate observations.

1. Find the thread called "Spagbook". Look at the pictures. Note your observations.

2. It's called "Discord". If you want to find the productive threads among the discord, you have to be observant.

3. Sometimes new people such as yourself come on the board and immediately, such as you are doing in this post, tell the long-term members here that we're doin' it wrong, and proceed from there to tell us how to be "Real Discordians". Nobody likes it. Please stop.

I agree with LMNO and Cram, and well, everyone really. We seriously won't hold a bad start against you... unless the behavior that lead to the bad start continues. We don't expect you to take the board 'seriously'.... but realizing that some people are serious _some of the time when appropriate_ is key here, I think.

I'd like to see another side of PED as well, and based on that lengthy post she doesn't seem like a hopeless Pinealist to me. It took some guts to come back and clarify her position and (almost)apologize. Be explicit and sincere in your apology and you'll probably hear a chorus of them back!
