Heh, it's been around for a while. It's accuracy is questionable at best. From what I've heard it's misused more often than not because people rely too much on the technology and never really bother to learn how to properly interrogate someone. Things like polygraphs cannot and do not detect lies, but they do assist the investigator in more closely monitoring the person's reactions to their questions and statements.

The "doctor" in charge of the company got his "doctorate" from a 6 hour course at a fucking bible college hosted in a storefront. For a while many agencies used this piece of shit and a number of people were wrongfully convicted. The military used this too unfortunately.
