I think I'm starting to see the fnords and, to be honest am finding it a fairly disturbing experience...just came along without warning today......anyone out there have any advice or been there in recent memory?

Very strange....innocuous stories on certain webpages mean more than they say they do...eerk!   :?

it's a phase. as you will continue to get better at Thinking for Yourself (schmuck), they will also disappear again.

I think i must've missed some cultural experiment somewhere along the line, or curve, or sine wave...or thing or something

Edit...I meant expression rather than experiment but left it in for potential Fruedian purposes

If you recall, the fnords are there to create a base state of anxiety in the population, making them more compliant and consumeristic.

Most of us here now consider them to be funny.

A brief example:

Oh I couldn't agree more now that I've thought about it; just comes as a surprise once you start noticing things differently!

I think maybe the funniness comes from being unable to believe how gullible we used to be perhaps?

I think you are being overly optimistic.

Indeed.  If there's one thing these forums have taught me, it's that we monkeys are a skittish bunch.

no, the funniness comes first, straight and pure 100% mittens and win, fresh from the Chaos.

everything else is caused by the funny.

We are still gullible little hairless apes.

You aren't ACTUALLY any different now, and believing you are just proves how little has actually changed.

Or something like that.

Lupernikes_shadowbark

ah fair enough; I didn't mean that we had IMPROVED in any way (I haven't at least) more of a slight change of mind than anything else....

I'm sure I'm still gullible, just a bit less than i was lol

As you get more familiar with this board, you'll notice that we try to restrain our so-called "enlightenment" with the obvious fact that we're still nothing more than a gang of shit-throwing monkeys.  That's sort of what Payne and RWHN were getting at.

Lupernikes_shadowbark

ahhh I see now, Ok and point taken mate, no worries

we are indeed these monkeys with partial alopetia of course and do like to think we're clever don't we?

we lost the hair, yes but did we lose the habits?

LMNO

Not really; but some of us try, sometimes.
