     past midnight
     having fasted
     and drank alot
     
     crouching in the snow
     looking up
     to a clear, blue moonlit sky
     illuminated now is
     the dark frame
     of a fir tree

     bright, milk coloured stars
     gathered
     and dangling
     around it's branches

     the faraway, comes here
     wind sways
     the tree
     to the sound of Lake Michigan
     in the distance

     - this cold world
     a shining ornament
     hanging on some great branch, unseen
