You all need us,
You all want us,
You all need my nutrition,
You all want my sensations, my ease, my smothered mountain of soapy butter,
You all need my shelter,
You all want my pure hue, my fleshy green lawn blades, my self respect, the smell of social hierarchy, my definition of your stranding,
You all need our long treks, our long journeys with the traveler of steel and wheels,
You all want our speed, the pure blue godly mobility, the fresh sky against our black asphalt streams, the wind, the eyes of envy,
You all need my definitions of yourself,
You all want my given cloth, my flowing sensations of colours, my skin, my hidden sexuality plainly in view,  my sounds, my cries of homogenized notation, my false connections, my minimized touch against your frigid loneliness,
You all need my equality,
You all long for my consumption.
Through me the way to the city of woe, Through me the way to everlasting pain, Through me the way among the lost.
Justice moved my maker on high.
Divine power made me, Wisdom supreme, and Primal love.
Before me nothing was but things eternal, and eternal I endure.
Abandon all hope, you who enter here.

I like this...can you share the "I" behind the "I"?  What/who did you have in mind?  I think I know, but I'd reather hear it from you, Thorny.

it's strange more and more I am beginning to personify the 21'st century as if its a flesh and blood being
here with equality it came from something my history professor glanced over in history class as he was ranting about class warfare i the early 20th century, and for some reason got me thinking about how much commercialism and consumption both structures us socially and gives us an appearance of equality
As long as we can consume we could satisfy some of our primitiveness.
Also gets me thinking (though in any way to express yet) what could happen when the ability to define ourselves through our consumption is longer available to us (with the possible lack of economy in the distance this is a real possibly)

Sorry can't make too much sense today... just had seven hours of labs

Much food for thought there...nice.  And you're making a helluvalot of sense, so don't kid yourself there.

With that in mind, I like it even more.

I love it!  I like the "smothered mountain of soapy butter" part.

"SaraLee, I say unto you!  If ye have a cake and halve it, and then halve it yet again, you would have four quarters and yet still not have a dollar.  Eat of that cake, for it is cake which is NOT cake, which ye may have half a mind to have at a reasonable price, yet in indecision achieve satori with said stale Moon Pie.  That's what you get when YOU FUCK WITH US." - DOUR

Brilliant.

I especially liked the part about needing 'my' definition of yourself. There's a lot of great themes in there... summed up very nicely, and just a little bit menacingly.
