...what do i say if asked by an Aneris just where I'm at?

And by that lymric I mean where do most Discordians consider the groups views in the Aneris point of view?  Liberal or Conservative?  I am more an anarchist, and could care less about the two distinctions, but I was curious how you lot might answer such a thing.

My plan is to simply say "Mu"

I prefer "Both sides would fuck us over, if they're given half a chance".
Either that or "Nazi Communist".
Is it plugged in?

Every group has Aneris.  Even your precious Anarchists.

Remember, the Hodge and the Podge.

From The Chao te Ching, chapter 2:

When the people of the world all know Order as Order,
there arises the recognition of Disorder.
When they all know there is such a thing as Illusion,
there arises the idea of Reality.

Therefore Order and Disorder produce each other,
Reality and Illusion trick each other,
Authority and Freedom define each other,
Love and Hate fuck each other.

So the wise spags look for the balance,
And stick their wrench into the Machine™.

They organize, but they do not Order.
They break apart, but they do not Disorder.
They act, but they Keep Their Fucking Mouths Shut.
And so are able to act again.

And Chapter 24:

The Grayface believes in Order.
The Anarchist believes in Disorder.
The General sees war.
The Celebrity sees the self.
The Bureaucrat seeks control.
The Leader acts like a bully on the playground.
The Scientist and the Priest believe in the model.

All these things are balanced in Chaos,
And so do not succeed.
Therefore the followers of Eris like to poke them with sticks.

Yes, this is a good question and one that requires much thought. I find that, just as with many other issues, there is no one Discordian answer. Some Discordians are liberal in the American sense, aka Democrats, some are libertarian and some are anarchist (or at least they make that claim, many anarchists don't seem to have any idea what the actual political philosophy espouses). Some are independent and some don't say.

I once, in the early days on my Erisian Delight, found myself arguing with another Discordian because they were Conservative and liked GWB. It was only later that the idiocy of my argument enlightened me. The best advice I've heard from a political party is from RAW's "Guns and Dope" party:

Like what you like, Enjoy what you enjoy and don't take crap from anybody.

My former Maine Stoned Platypus Cabal mate, Chuck Full-O-Pope was a Conservative AND a Christian.  I'm assuming he is still both, though we haven't spoke in ages.

Probably cause I'm a jerk.

I default to something between social liberalism and social democracy because, IMO, its the kind of government that does the least overall harm.  That said, I don't actually like a lot of social liberals or social democrats, and tend to think of them as wishy-washy losers who got punk'd by neocons and third way-ist managerial types.  Equally, I have no problem with tearing down today's status quo, so long as a workable model is presented for doing so (Islamism, Anarchism, Fascism, Marxism-Leninism/Stalinism/Maoism, Libertarianism, Christian Reconstructionism etc are not workable models).

For me, personally I'm a Rational Anarchist. In my opinion government is a problem and rarely a solution. Also, in my opinion, no human has the right to tell another what they can or cannot do. Slavery is slavery, be it one plantation owner, or 60% of our Senators, or 51% of or fellow citizens. When the laws don't get in my way, I obey them. When they get in my way, I ignore them.

Now, I also realize that most people don't want to live that way. Many people don't seem to have the wherewithal to take care of themselves due to physical, psychological, educational or social constraints. In the US, that means they basically get a choice between the GOP and the Democrats. So when I vote, I tend to vote democrat, because  they seem the least terrible of the choices and generally appear more interested in providing services for people that need it, rather than trying to legislate morality and invade foreign nations.

GIMME YOUR SHOES AND WHATEVER YOU'VE GOT IN YOUR PANTRY!

Cause without any kind of government, or laws, that's exactly what I'd be doing. I don't know about you.
Of course, I may not really want the food in your pantry cause without the FDA god only knows what the hell you're really eating. (yes I know, we don't always know what we're eating as it is, but can you imagine how much worse it could be?)

I yam what I yam.  Whatever that is.  My wife is an unabashed flaming liberal.  Which makes visits with my very Conservative parents interesting, to say the least.

Well, firstly I doubt you'd get the drop on me :)

Secondly, Rational Anarchism is personal, and specifically not based on abolishing the government. Rather its actively deciding when to obey or ignore a particular law. Let the government make laws all they want... and I'll ignore the stupid ones, or the ones that get in my way.

Third, anarchism as a political philosophy has very little to do with abolishing all law. Most forms of anarchy still include organization, society, rules for that society etc. However, the KEY difference is that no one in the society is bound to agreements they didn't make. The concept is called Voluntary Association. It means that people can voluntarily associate, form groups, make rules, laws, courts, police, etc etc etc.... BUT no one is required to be part of a group, they choose to associate with the group that they most closely agree with or are willing to live with. That's a lot different than being expected to follow the rules set by a bunch of spags that just happened to live within an arbitrary line on some paper.  :lulz:
