Not "everyone else", because I am not, and have not, complained.

That's rat trying to make a bad situation worse.  It's his MO.

No it fucking isn't.... It was a generalization and I suppose I should have stated "everyone else who emailed ECH" but I falsely assumed that people would get the intention.

My apologies.

Roger, just want to say I'm looking forward to the father/daughter Hey LMNO project. Agent Pariah's PDF was pretty good, and I think the more versions the better.

Thanks.  I just want the capability to create and edit PDF files.

PDF files are more of a "write only" thing, usually you create your working copy in some other format, and then export (or "print") the final version to a PDF.

you can, in theory, edit PDF files (using a tool called Adobe Distiller, afaik), but that's not the most practical way of creating them. (It is incredibly useful however, to remove black bars from de-classified gvmt documents, if they were stupid enough to place a black rectangle over the letters without deleting the text itself)

I suggest seeing how far you get with MS Word and Cram's suggestion (forgot the name, it's a few pages back). Even though MS Word can be a stubborn bitch to get to do exactly what you want, it is rather intuitive, I guess.

Okay, thanks.  I have 3 weeks before my daughter will be done with the first round of illustrations, so I have a little time.

Now RWHN, don't make me get sombunal on your ass ;-)

It was more of me wanting to publicly state that I didn't make any non-public complaints.  Because I have no complaints.  I treat pd.com like the chinese buffet.  I take the stuff I like and leave the stuff I don't.

- pm'ing complaints to ECH is weak, if something is a problem bring it up or pm the person you have the problem with (re Cain behind the scenes discussions about the boards direction or mood (meta stuff) is not the same as complaining about it or planing administrative action, i expect you were doing the former)

Problem:  That isn't how it was presented last night.  It was presented that multiple people had PMd ECH talking about how shitty the board is, and who is responsible for that.

i don't know what Cains pm was like (i give him credit for not crossing into complaining or encouraging administrative action) i don't know what the other pm's were like either, but guess it was butt hurt noobs and forum softy's crying "why cant we all just get along"  both of which can be ignored,

if some noob or regular is being wrongly bashed they should (ideally) be able to appeal to reason and get everyone's support and not need to call on a big daddy to spank people for them

Probably.  In any case, it is no longer an issue, as I will have no interactions with troublesome noobs.  If anyone wants a thread split, they can PM me and I'll clean things up.  Other than that, I am no longer interested in dealing with these things.

Nor do I give a fuck about big daddy spankings, come to think about it.

But the mission has been accomplished.  I have been knocked out of the mood to write.

I'm gonna finish the spider project with my daughter, as she is intensely interested in it (and she is far more important to me than any of you, as you will surely understand), and then I'm going to take a break and just veg for a while.

Yeah, well, being a primate, I do have SOME pattern recognition skills, and this shit ONLY happens when I start writing again.

So there's a simple solution.  I stop writing anything, at least until this particular shitstorm passes.  Not that there's any choice in the matter.  I can only write while I'm in the mood.

So, again, mission accomplished.

Perhaps there is in this impulse for people to exploit their own writing creativity. There are lots of people here, and I doubt they have nothing to say.

Looking forward to that project, Roger.

And yeah, actually it does seem to be the case that these kinds of shitstorms inevitably follow a period where you have been very creatively active.
