I think this is a case of tea baggers and birthers /trying/ to be clever. There are statements like "I [heart] Obama", so they replaced the [heart] with a [swastika], because Obama = NAZI. However, they fail at syntax, because where "I [heart] Obama" is the same as "I love Obama", "I NAZI Obama" makes no sense. Neither does "I protect Obama", and I would argue that most people are not smart enough to know the earlier meaning of the swastika.
